Logie Award For Most Popular Actor
The Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor is an award presented annually at the Australian TV Week Logie Awards. The award recognises the popularity of an actor in an Australian program. It was first awarded at the 19th Annual TV Week Logie Awards, held in 1977 when the award category was originally called Most Popular Australian Lead Actor. It was later renamed Most Popular Actor and briefly Best Actor (2016–2017). For the 2018 ceremony, the award category name was reverted to Most Popular Actor. The winner and nominees of ''Most Popular Actor'' are chosen by the public through an online voting survey on the ''TV Week'' website. Paul Cronin and Martin Sacks hold the record for the most wins, with five each, followed by Grant Dodwell, Craig McLachlan and Hugh Sheridan with three wins each. Peter O'Brien is an Australian actor, best known for his role as an original cast member in 1985 of Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'' as Shane Ramsay. He has also acted in numerous British and American productions. Career O'Brien played a regular role in short-lived soap opera '' Starting Out ''(1983), and then had guest roles in '' Carson's Law'' in 1983 and ''Prisoner'' in 1984 and appeared in '' The Henderson Kids''. ''A Country Practice'' is an Australian television soap opera/serial which was broadcast on the Seven Network from 18 November 1981 until 22 November 1993, and subsequently on Network Ten from 13 April 1994 to 5 November 1994. Altogether, 14 seasons and 1,088 episodes were produced. The show was produced at the ATN-7's production facility at Epping, New South Wales; Pitt Town and Oakville, suburbs on the outskirts of northwest Sydney, Australia, were used for most of the exterior filming, with the historic heritage-listed Clare House, built in 1838, serving as the location of the Wandin Valley Bush Nursing Hospital. ''Cop Shop'' is a long-running Australian police drama television series produced by Crawford Productions that ran for seven seasons between 28 November 1977 and 23 July 1984. It comprised 582 one-hour episodes. Synopsis The show revolved around the everyday operations of both the uniformed police officers and the plainclothes detectives of the fictional Riverside Police Station. It also took a significant interest in the private lives of the characters. While many Crawford Productions police dramas combined videotaped interiors with location footage shot on 16mm film, ''Cop Shop'' was shot entirely on video, including external scenes.
