Lochie O'Brien
Lochie O'Brien (born 18 September 1999) is a former professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life and junior career Lochie grew up in rural Victoria and played junior football for the South Mildura Football Club. Growing up a Collingwood fan, his grandfather Denis managed to play a single senior game for the Magpies in 1971. Lochie had a promising athletics career growing up, breaking regional records in the 400 and 1500m categories and eventually breaking the state's school record with a time of 51.06 seconds. His impressive sporting background gave him the opportunity to attend Geelong Grammar School. It was not long before he was picked up by the Bendigo Pioneers of the TAC Cup. The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team in the statewide Victorian under-18s league, the NAB League. Synopsis The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team playing in NAB League since 1993 based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The idea behind the Bendigo Pioneers is to train its players and condition them for professional football. The team is divided into under-15s, under-16s, and under-18s. The Pioneers train at Epsom/Huntly Oval, Epsom. Their jersey colors are blue, white and yellow with blue, white and yellow socks and blue (home) or white (away) shorts. 2019 AFL Season
The 2019 AFL season was the 123rd season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior men's Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 21 March until 28 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. The premiership was won by the Richmond Football Club for the twelfth time, after it defeated by 89 points in the 2019 AFL Grand Final.
