A local people's court is a court at local level of the People's Republic of China. According to the ''Organic Law of the People's Courts'', the local people's courts includes: * High people's courts * Intermediate people's courts * Primary people's courts During the 1940s and 1950s, people's courts were village meetings in which peasants would engage in airing grievances about their landlords. These were known as 诉苦 会 ''sùkǔhuì'' “speak bitterness meetings” and were often organized by Communist militants for the denunciation of landlords. A primary people's court () is a lowest level court in the Courts of General Jurisdiction in the People's Republic of China. Kangaroo Court
A kangaroo court is a court that ignores recognized standards of law or justice, carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides, and is typically convened ad hoc. A kangaroo court may ignore due process and come to a predetermined conclusion. The term may also apply to a court held by a legitimate judicial authority which intentionally disregards the court's legal or ethical obligations (compare show trial). A kangaroo court could also develop when the structure and operation of the forum result in an inferior brand of adjudication.
