Harem Scarem
Harem Scarem is a Canadian hard rock/melodic hard rock band from Toronto, Ontario. Harem Scarem initially (the early 1990s) achieved popularity in their native Canada and Japan. The band was active from 1987 to 2008, and again from 2013 after reforming. Throughout their career, they have released 16 studio albums (including two releases as Rubber in Canada, but not the vinyl re-issue in 2023 of Mood Swings), plus numerous live and compilation albums, and a re-record of Mood Swings (as Mood Swings II) in 2013. Totals record sales are in excess of one million worldwide. History 1987–2008 Harem Scarem was formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and singer Harry Hess, formerly of Blind Vengeance who had recorded two heavy metal albums in the 1980s. Christopher William Ward (born 28 July 1949) is a Canadian songwriter and broadcaster, known as a former long-standing on-air personality at MuchMusic, Canada's music video network, where he and J. D. Roberts were among the first video jockeys in 1984. Ward was a judge on '' The Next Star'' which was a Canadian reality television show on YTV. Creighton Doane is a Canadian drummer and songwriter, best known as a longtime member of the rock band Harem Scarem. The son of music educator J. Chalmers Doane and the brother of singer-songwriter Melanie Doane, his first significant musical project was as the drummer in The October Game, a local Halifax band fronted by Sarah McLachlan.Michael Barclay, Ian A.D. "Honestly" is the title of a power ballad by Canadian glam metal band Harem Scarem. The song appears on their 1991 self-titled debut album. Robert Dean McTaggart is a Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer. His most recent album is ''Drop the Needle in the Groove'' from 2010. Biography McTaggart was the lead vocalist in the Canadian band The Arrows from 1981 to 1986. The Arrows produced two albums and one EP and had popular hits in Canada including "Meet Me in the Middle", "Say It Isn't True", "Heart of the City", "Never Be Another One" and "Talk Talk". Pete Lesperance is a Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer best known as the lead guitarist for the Canadian hard rock band Harem Scarem. Lesperance was born October 13, 1968, in Scarborough, Ontario. Lesperance was a guitarist in the Oshawa metal band Minotaur before forming Harem Scarem with Blind Vengeance vocalist Harry Hess in 1987. Lesperance's solo album, ''Down In It'', was released in 2004 in Japan only, where Harem Scarem had their main fanbase. With fellow guitarist Mike Turner (ex-Our Lady Peace), they put together the band Fair Ground. Together they released a new version of ''Down In It''.
