''Live in Colorado'' is an album by Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros. It was recorded at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on June 8 and 9, 2021, and at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre in Vail, Colorado on June 11 and 12, 2021. It was released as a CD and as a two-disc LP on February 18, 2022. Wolf Bros
Wolf Bros – also known as Bob Weir & Wolf Bros or Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros – is a rock band led by former Grateful Dead guitarist and singer Bob Weir. The band plays some Grateful Dead songs along with other roots rock music. History Wolf Bros formed in 2018 as a trio, with Bob Weir on guitar and vocals, Don Was on double bass, and Jay Lane on drums. Billed as Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, they toured the U.S. with 19 concerts in the fall of that year. In the spring of 2019 they played another concert tour with 20 more shows. In the spring of 2020 the band began a 22-date tour, which was cancelled in the middle because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On New Year's Eve 2020 Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, with Jeff Chimenti on keyboards and Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar, livestreamed a concert from TRI Studios. "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall" is a song written by American musician and Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan in the summer of 1962 and recorded later that year for his second album, '' The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan'' (1963). Its lyrical structure is modeled after the question and answer form of traditional ballads such as " Lord Randall". The song is characterized by symbolist imagery in the style of Arthur Rimbaud, communicating suffering, pollution, and warfare. Dylan has said that all of the lyrics were taken from the initial lines of songs that "he thought he would never have time to write." Mads Tolling
Mads Tolling (born July 5, 1980) is a Danish-American violinist, violist, composer and two-time Grammy Award-Winner. As a former member of the Turtle Island Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke’s band, Tolling is today leading his own projects and bands. He won Grammy Awards for Best Classical Crossover Album as part of Turtle Island Quartet's recordings ''4+Four'' (2006) and ''A Love Supreme - The Legacy of John Coltrane'' (2008). He recorded on Stanley Clarke's ''The Toys of Men'' (2007). Tolling was nominated for another Grammy in the Classical Compendium Category in 2015 with the album, ''Mike Marshall & The Turtle Island Quartet.'' Greg Leisz
Gregory Brian Leisz ( ; born September 18, 1949) is an American musician. He is a songwriter, recording artist, and producer. He plays guitar, dobro, mandolin, lap steel and pedal steel guitar. Biography Leisz grew up in the garage band culture of mid-1960s Southern California. He spent time at the Ashgrove, the Troubador, and clubs on the Sunset Strip . He began playing guitar and soon added dobro and lap steel. He was inspired to pick up the pedal steel after hearing Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Buddy Emmons. In 1975, he toured with John Stewart (formerly of The Kingston Trio). He was a member of Funky Kings who released their eponymous debut album on Arista Records in 1976. Jeff Chimenti (born October 21, 1968) is an American keyboardist, best known for his ongoing work with former members of the Grateful Dead. Since May 1997 he has played with Bob Weir & RatDog, and has also played on every tour of The Dead (including the Fare Thee Well lineup) and Furthur. He currently plays with Dead & Company. Early life and music career A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Chimenti began playing piano when he was four and he studied formally from the age of seven to around the time he finished high school. Once he graduated from high school, he began playing in bands around the Bay area. He played in local jazz bands as well as Les Claypool's Frog Brigade. Josh Kaufman (musician)
Josh Kaufman (born May 26, 1978) is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, composer, arranger and engineer based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a member of the collaborative ensembles Muzz and Bonny Light Horseman. New York Kaufman began playing in high school garage bands in New York. Largely self-taught, he decided to take music theory lessons in his senior year at high school in preparation for studying music at Third Level. After graduating, Kaufman enrolled in the State University of New York (SUNY) in New Paltz, NY. There, he worked at The Main Street Bistro as well as Jack's Rhythms record store, and frequently made visits down to New York City. John Perry Barlow (October 3, 1947February 7, 2018) was an American poet, essayist, cattle rancher, and cyberlibertarian political activist who had been associated with both the Democratic and Republican parties.
