''A Little Princess'' is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, first published as a book in 1905. It is an expanded version of the short story "Sara Crewe: or, What Happened at Miss Minchin's", which was serialized in '' St. Nicholas Magazine'' from December 1887, and published in book form in 1888. According to Burnett, after she composed the 1902 play ''A Little Un-fairy Princess'' based on that story, her publisher asked that she expand the story as a novel with "the things and people that had been left out before". The novel was published by Charles Scribner's Sons (also publisher of ''St. Nicholas Magazine'') with illustrations by Ethel Franklin Betts and the full title ''A Little Princess: Being the Whole Story of Sara Crewe Now Being Told for the First Time''. Plot Captain Ralph Crewe, a wealthy English widower, has been raising his only child, a daughter named Sara, in India where he is stationed with the British Army. He stated “I’m not trying to make a klezmer guitar record, but rather rethink Naftule Brandwein through my particular kind of prism. I found that by taking a klezmer tune by Naftule Brandwein and putting it in a flamenco key, the melody suddenly just slides off the fret board.” Bassist Greg Cohen and percussionist Cyro Baptist ...

Sarah
Sarah (born Sarai) is a biblical matriarch, prophet, and major figure in Abrahamic religions. While different Abrahamic faiths portray her differently, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all depict her character similarly, as that of a pious woman, renowned for her hospitality and beauty, the wife of Abraham, and the mother of Isaac. Sarah has her feast day on 1 September in the Catholic Church, 19 August in the Coptic Orthodox Church, 20 January in the LCMS, and 12 and 20 December in the Eastern Orthodox Church. In the Hebrew Bible Family According to Book of Genesis 20:12, in conversation with the Philistine king Abimelech of Gerar, Abraham describes Sarah as both his wife and his half-sister ("my father's daughter, but not my mother's"). Such unions were later explicitly banned in the Book of Leviticus (). However, some commentators identify her as Iscah (Genesis 11:29), a daughter of Abraham's brother Haran.Schwartz, Howard, (1998).
