Little Caesar And The Consuls
Little Caesar and the Consuls is a Canadians, Canadian rock music, rock band, originally active in and around Toronto from 1961 to 1971. The earliest tangible evidence of a group by that name is on February 11, 1961, when they played for the Downsview Junior Teen Club's Valentine Party at Beverley Heights Junior High School, as reported in the February 23, 1961, issue of the Weston, Ontario, ''Times & Guide.'' Two members of Little Caesar and The Consuls, pianist and vocalist Bruce Morshead and saxophonist Norm Sherratt, had previously been part of a group named The Consuls after a popular Ford Consul, automobile. In early 1959, disappointed with the lack of success and because Robbie Robertson refused to play bass, a role for which he had recently been hired, the five-piece Consuls disbanded. Ptolemy XV Caesar (; , ; 47 BC – late August 30 BC), nicknamed Caesarion (, , "Little Caesar"), was the last pharaoh of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, reigning with his mother Cleopatra VII from 2 September 44 BC until her death by 10 or 12 August 30 BC, then as sole ruler until his death was ordered by Octavian (who would become the first Roman emperor as Augustus). Caesarion was the eldest son of Cleopatra, and was the only known biological son of Julius Caesar, after whom he was named. He was the last sovereign member of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt. The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl (known as the Motor City Bowl until 2009) was a post-season college football bowl game that was played annually from 1997 to 2013. The first five games (1997–2001) were played at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan, and moved to the 65,000-seat Ford Field in downtown Detroit, Michigan in 2002—the past and present homes of the Detroit Lions respectively. "Little Caesar" is a song by the American hard rock band Kiss, featured on their 1989 album ''Hot in the Shade''. It is the lone original song that drummer Eric Carr sang lead on during his tenure with Kiss (although he did sing lead on a remake of " Beth" on Kiss's ''Smashes, Thrashes & Hits'' album the year before). The song was written by Carr, Gene Simmons and Adam Mitchell.
