Lists Of Fictional Astronauts
These are a series of incomplete lists of fictional astronauts appearing in various media, including books, film, television shows (live or animated), radio shows, records, and comic books. To be included in these lists, a fictional astronaut must be modeled upon actual astronauts of real-world space programs, as they have actually existed since the beginning of the Space Age, or were envisioned in the years leading up to the Space Age. Criteria include: # A fictional astronaut must be human (not an alien, robot, or animal). # A fictional astronaut must be on a flight originating from the Earth; space travellers engaging in casual voyages between other planets (as in ''Star Wars'' or ''Battlestar Galactica'') are not eligible. # A fictional astronaut must be presented as living in the period of the early space exploration, exploration of space, i.e. from the beginning of the Space Age to the present, and for a few decades into the future; currently, in the period of about 1960–2 ...

Major Matt Mason
Major Matt Mason was an action figure created by Mattel. He was an astronaut who lived and worked on the Moon. When introduced in 1966, the figures were initially based on design information found in ''Life Magazine, United States Air Force, Air Force Magazine, Jane's Information Group, Jane's,'' and other aviation- and space-interest periodicals. Later, the line attempted to transition into the realm of science fiction. Toyline description Mason's crew (The "Men in Space") The toy line included four astronaut action figure characters sharing a common body molded of a rubber-like material called "Plastizol" (which was also used in the Mattel "Thing Maker" toy line and "Mister Twister" line of fishing bait). Billy Blastoff
The toy line known as Billy Blastoff incorporated several versions of a four-inch-tall, plastic, child-faced adventurer produced by Eldon in the late 1960s and early 70s. The concept was licensed to Tomy (of Japan) by Eldon for distribution in Japan . Billy Blastoff was sometimes packaged as a deluxe Space Set with his friend Robbie Robot (Robbie was also featured in his own packaged set).
