This is a list of some of the wilderness study areas (WSA) in the United States as of December 2009. Wilderness study areas are designated lands that meet criteria of the Wilderness Act and are managed as wilderness by their parent agency, pending final determination by Congress. Gooding City Of Rocks West Wilderness Study Area
The Gooding City of Rocks West Wilderness Study Area is a Bureau of Land Management wilderness study area that covers in Gooding County, Idaho between the towns of Gooding and Fairfield. The WSA is located in the Bennett Hills and features a collection of rock features called hoodoos, which rise to more than . The Gooding City of Rocks West WSA is contiguous (but divided by dirt roads) with three other WSAs in the Bennett Hills: Black Canyon, Gooding City of Rocks East, and Little City of Rocks. Portions of the WSA's borders are formed by dirt roads, which also separates it from the Gooding City of Rocks West and Black Canyon WSAs. Oregon Buttes
The Oregon Buttes are small buttes, near the Oregon Trail, in what is now the US state, state of Wyoming. They are just past South Pass (Wyoming), South Pass, and are two flat-topped summits plus a smaller, Conical hill, conical one. For travelers on the Oregon Trail, the buttes were on the horizon for a day's travel, perhaps more. This was as they crossed Rock Creek, then Willow Creek, and, for the last time, the Sweetwater River (Wyoming), Sweetwater River. Aden Lava Flow Wilderness Study Area
Aden Lava Flow Wilderness is one of many Wildernesses operated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in New Mexico. It is in size. The John D. The Wilderness Act of 1964 () was written by Howard Zahniser of The Wilderness Society. It created the legal definition of wilderness in the United States, and protected 9.1 million acres (37,000 km²) of federal land. West Cold Spring Wilderness Study Area
Cold Spring Mountain is a summit in Moffat County, Colorado. It was also known as O-WI-YU-KUTS Plateau. It is on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) topographic maps of Sparks, Beaver Basin, Willow Creek Butte, Big Joe Basin, and Irish Canyon. West Cold Spring Wilderness Study Area In 1980, the West Cold Spring Wilderness Study Area was established by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
