Ziaur Rahman
Ziaur Rahman (19 January 193630 May 1981) was a Bangladeshi military officer and politician who served as the sixth president of Bangladesh from 1977 until Assassination of Ziaur Rahman, his assassination in 1981. One of the leading figures of the Bangladesh Liberation War, country's independence war, Ziaur has been nicknamed as the "Liberation Announcer" for broadcasting the Proclamation of Bangladeshi Independence, Bangladeshi declaration of independence in March 1971 from Chittagong. He was the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He previously served as the third Chief of Army Staff (Bangladesh), Chief of Army Staff from 1975 to 1978 with a minor break. Shahid Zia Shishu Park, Rajshahi
Shahid Zia Shishu Park is one the entertainment centers of the Rajshahi, located at Boro Bangram, Nawdapara, Rajshahi district, Bangladesh. History The park is named after Ziaur Rahman, the 7th president of Bangladesh. In 1995, Rajshahi City Corporation undertook a project to build an amusement park in the city. On February 9, 2005, foundation stone was laid, although the construction work of the park started one year before. The park was opened to the public on February 1, 2006, on a trial basis, and officially inaugurated on February 25, 2006, by Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, ''the then'' Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. 110 million+ BDT was spent on the construction of the park. Shahid Zia Shishu Park
The Shahid Zia Shishu Park () also known as Dhaka Shishu Park is one of the many children's amusement parks in Dhaka City along with many other privately operated entertainment parks and amusement centres in Dhaka. It is located in the Shahbag area of Dhaka City in Bangladesh. The Bengali name 'Shishu Park' translates to 'Children's Park' in English. The Shishu Park is closed to visitors and the public at the moment, due to ongoing expansion, modernisation and renovation work, including a large underground car park, additional rides, etc. Established in 1979 on of land, it is the first children's amusement park in independent Bangladesh. Founded in 1949 by Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Yar Mohammad Khan, it is the oldest and one of the most circulated newspapers in Bangladesh. Zia Udyan or Zia Uddan (), also known as Chandrima Uddan () is a park situated across the National Parliament Building in Dhaka, Bangladesh. History The park is notable for being the place where the former Bangladeshi President, Ziaur Rahman was buried.
