South America
South America is a continent entirely in the Western Hemisphere and mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere at the northern tip of the continent. Parque Central Torre Este
The Parque Central Complex is a housing, commercial and cultural development, implemented by Centro Simón Bolívar and located in the area known as El Conde in the center of the city of Caracas, Venezuela adjacent to Paseo Vargas. Within the complex are the Twin Towers of Parque Central which are two skyscrapers that, for decades, have become Caracas' architectural icon. From 1979 (when the West Tower was opened) until 2003, they held the title of tallest skyscrapers in Latin America until they were overtaken by Torre Mayor in Mexico City. Torre De La Escollera
Torre de la Escollera was a tall residential skyscraper with 58 floors planned to be built in Cartagena, Colombia. The under construction building suffered severe structural damage during a storm on 13 May 2007, and was dismantled later that year. Had it been completed, it would have been the tallest building in Colombia. Design The design of the Torre de la Escollera called for a slender tower, tall with 58 floors. It would have been divided into 88 apartments, with the upper floors having just one apartment per floor, topped by a 3-level penthouse apartment and a rooftop helipad. With prices between 500 million and 1,200 million Colombian Pesos, the apartments would have been the most expensive in Colombia. Other facilities would have included a swimming pool and a spa. The Maria Helena Mendes de Barros Saad Tower, more commonly known as Torre da TV Bandeirantes, or Torre da Band, is a television and radio lattice tower located in the district of Consolação, near the Avenida Paulista in São Paulo, Brazil. Brasilia TV Tower
The Brasília TV Tower is a radio and television transmission tower built in Brasilia and inaugurated in 1967 with 224 meters high. It is located at Eixo Monumental, in the Burle Marx Garden, and besides the tower itself, which has a belvedere and a museum, the Museum of Gems, its immediate surroundings have several attractions, such as the Fair Tower and the TV Tower Fountain, which makes the place one of the most visited by tourists, receiving from ten to twelve thousand people a week.
