Birgitta Ed
Birgitta Paulina Kristersson Ed (; 2 September 1968) is a Swedish priest in the Church of Sweden and a former entrepreneur and public relations consultant. She is the wife of Ulf Kristersson, the Prime Minister of Sweden since 2022. Career Ed worked as a political advisor in the government office (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Sweden) from 1991 to 1994, during Prime Minister Carl Bildt's tenure in office. In 1994, Ed co-founded the PR agency Sagt:Gjort, which through a merger in 2000 became the PR agency Springtime, where Ed was CEO from 2000–2001. Ed was CEO of Stiftelsen Sverige i Europa, leading the yes side during the 2003 Swedish euro referendum campaign. Arvid Lindman
Salomon Arvid Achates Lindman (19 September 1862 – 9 December 1936) was a Swedish rear admiral, industrialist and conservative politician who served as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1906 to 1911 and again from 1928 to 1930. He has been described as one of the fathers of modern Sweden. He was also the leader of the conservative Moderate Party, General Electoral Union () between 1912 and 1935 as well as leader of ''Lantmanna- och borgarepartiet'' (a member party of the General Electoral Union) from 1913 to 1935, except for a short while during 1917 when he served as Minister for Foreign Affairs (Sweden), Minister for Foreign Affairs. Baron Gerhard Louis De Geer of Finspång (usually known as Louis De Geer; 27 November 185425 February 1935) was a Swedish politician, who served in the first chamber of the ''Riksdag'' 1901–14, was governor of Kristianstad County 1905–23, and Prime Minister of Sweden for 121 days in 1920–1921. Sonja Branting-Westerståhl
Sonja Branting-Westerståhl (15 September 1890 – 18 July 1981) was a Swedish lawyer and politician. She was one of the first female lawyers in Sweden and specialised in matrimonial law. A social democrat, she was active in raising awareness of the rise of far-right politics in 1930s and 1940s. During the Spanish Civil War, she travelled to France and Africa and inspected refugee camps, and campaigned on against the suffering she saw. In 1948, she served in the lower house of the Riksdag, the Swedish Parliament, for a short period. Georg Branting
Georg Branting (21 September 1887 – 6 July 1965) was a Swedish Social Democrat and Olympic fencer. He was the son of Hjalmar Branting and Anna Branting, and a member of the Riksdag 1932–1961. In the Spanish Civil War, a Scandinavian battalion of the International Brigades was named after him, as a sign of thanks for his vehement support of the Spanish Republic. Anna Branting
Anna Matilda Charlotta Branting (; 19 November 1855 – 11 December 1950), was a Swedish journalist and writer. She was a Social Democrat and married to Swedish prime minister Hjalmar Branting. From the 1880s to 1917, she was an influential theater critic in the Stockholm press under the pseudonym Réne. Life Anna Branting's parents were police inspector Erik Jäderin and Charlotta Gustava Holm. She married lieutenant and nobleman Gustav Vilhelm von Kraemer (1851–1884) in 1877, and divorced him in 1883. She married secondly to Hjalmar Branting in 1884. Hjalmar Branting
Karl Hjalmar Branting (; 23 November 1860 – 24 February 1925) was a Swedish politician who was the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party (SAP) from 1907 until his death in 1925, and three times Prime Minister of Sweden. When Branting came to power in 1920, he was the first Social Democratic Prime Minister of Sweden. When taking office for a second term after the general election of 1921, he became the first social democratic head of government in Western Europe elected under universal suffrage. An early supporter of modern social democracy and democratic socialism, he led the SAP through a transformation from a radical socialist movement to Sweden's dominant party; the Social Democrats have been Sweden's largest party in every election since 1914, and formed government for 44 continuous years from 1932 to 1976. Nils Edén
Nils Edén (25 August 1871 – 16 June 1945) was a Swedish historian and liberal politician who served as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1917 to 1920, and along with Hjalmar Branting acknowledged as co-architect of Sweden's transition from a constitutional monarchy to a fully parliamentary democracy with equal male and female suffrage. Carl Swartz
Carl Johan Gustaf Swartz (5 June 1858 – 6 November 1926) was a Swedish right-wing politician who served as Prime Minister of Sweden from March to October 1917. He also served as Minister for Finance from 1906 to 1911. He married Dagmar Lundström in 1886, with whom he had three children, Erik, Brita and Olof. Dag Hjalmar Agne Carl Hammarskjöld (English: ,; 29 July 1905 – 18 September 1961) was a Swedish economist and diplomat who served as the second secretary-general of the United Nations from April 1953 until his death in a plane crash in September 1961. As of 2025, he remains the youngest person to have held the post, having been only 47 years old when he was appointed.
