Enfield County School
Enfield County is a girls' comprehensive school which was once created as Enfield Chace School in 1967, following the amalgamation of Enfield County School, which had been a girls' grammar school, with Chace Girls School, a secondary modern school. The amalgamated school readopted the name Enfield County School in 1987. In 2018 the School adopted the name Enfield County School for Girls. According to league tables, Latymer is one of the top state-schools in the country. History and traditions Latymer was established in 1624 on Church Street, Edmonton by bequest of Edward Latymer, a City of London, London City merchant in Hammersmith. Although most of his wealth passed to the people of Hammersmith and the Parish of St Dunstan's (now Latymer Upper School), he named certain properties and estates to fund the education and livelihoods of "eight poore boies of Edmonton" with a doublet (clothing), doublet, a pair of breeches, a shirt, a pair of woollen stockings and shoes distributed biannually on Ascension Day and All Saints' Day. Wrens are a family of brown passerine birds in the predominantly New World family Troglodytidae. The family includes 88 species divided into 19 genera. Only the Eurasian wren occurs in the Old World, where, in Anglophone regions, it is commonly known simply as the "wren", as it is the originator of the name. Winchmore School is an 11–18 mixed, community secondary school and sixth form in Winchmore Hill, Greater London, England. It was established in 1956 as a secondary modern school and has been a specialist arts college since 2004. History Winchmore council school was established in 1914 in Highfield Road for infants and juniors. In 1932, a secondary department was added, which became a secondary modern school after reorganisation following the Education Act 1944. In 1956, the seniors moved to the newly established Winchmore School on the opposite side of Highfield Road. It was converted to a comprehensive school in 1967. The school is situated just east of the Cat Hill roundabout of the A111 and A110, between Cockfosters and Oakwood tube stations. St Ignatius' College is a Catholic voluntary aided secondary school for boys aged 11–18 in Enfield, London, England, founded by the Society of Jesus. It was formerly a grammar school, only accepting boys who had passed the Eleven plus exam. History The school was founded in Stamford Hill, South Tottenham, London, on 10 September 1894. The college and the Jesuit community were initially accommodated in two houses called Morecombe Lodge and Burleigh House, located near Tottenham High Road. The school originally had only 46 boys, four Jesuits, and a dog in 1894. In 1907 the college was recognised by the Board of Education and began to receive public money towards its support. History The school was founded in 1977 as Bullsmoor School, a purpose-built comprehensive school. It was later renamed Lea Valley High. Kingsmead School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Enfield, north London, England. The school converted to academy status in October 2010, and was previously a community school under the direct control of Enfield London Borough Council. The 2017 results were in the highest possible category of ‘Well Above Average’ at A Level (top 4% nationally) and ‘Above Average’ at GCSE (top 18% nationally).
