Gutenberg-Gymnasium Erfurt
The Gutenberg-Gymnasium Erfurt is a gymnasium (secondary school) located in Erfurt, Germany. It opened in 1991 and has approximately 750 students between the ages of 10 and 19. History * The Gutenberg-Gymnasium was formed from the earlier "Gutenberg School" which was built in 1908. Winnenden
Winnenden (; Swabian German, Swabian: ''Wẽnnede'') is a small town in the Rems-Murr district of the Stuttgart Region in Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany. It lies in a wine-growing area approx. northeast of Stuttgart and has a population of fewer than 28,000. The town is home to the Kärcher Company, makers of cleaning equipment namely pressure washers. History The earliest record of Winnenden is found in a document of 1181 where Gottfried of Schauenburg-Winnenden is mentioned as a witness testifying that Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor, Emperor Friedrich I held the castle in the town. Around 1200 the castle, which was then called Windin, came into the possession of Heinrich of Neuffen. In 1277 it was transferred to Konrad von Weinsberg. Albertville-Realschule
The Albertville-Realschule is one of seven secondary schools and one of the two Realschules in Winnenden in the Rems-Murr-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg. It gained notoriety because of the Winnenden school shooting that occurred on March 11, 2009. The Schule was previously called ''Realschule Winnenden I im Bildungszentrum II'' and was renamed ''Albertville-Realschule'' after the twinning with Albertville in the French Alps in 1980. 580 pupils in 20 classes were lectured by 32 teachers at the Realschule in 2009. The school has been offering a student exchange program with the ''Collège La Combe de Savoie'' in Albertville since 1981 and with the ''Vörösmarty Mihaly Gimnázium'' in Budapest since 2007. On March 11, 2009, a 17-year-old apprentice and former student of the school Running amok, ran amok in the school, killing twelve people, including nine students and three teachers, before fleeing. Emsdetten School Shooting
The Emsdetten school shooting was a school shooting that occurred at the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule in Emsdetten, Germany, on 20 November 2006 when 18-year-old former student Sebastian Bosse shot and wounded 8 people and set off several smoke bombs before committing suicide. Even though there were no fatalities besides that of the gunman, the shooting was at one point considered to be the worst school shooting in the history of Germany since the Erfurt massacre, in which 17 people, including the perpetrator, were killed. This position is now held by the 2009 Winnenden school shooting, which left 16 people dead, including the perpetrator. Coburg Shooting
The Coburg shooting was an attempted school killing at Realschule II in Coburg, Bavaria, Germany during the morning of 2 July 2003. History Florian Klein shot a school psychologist in the thigh when she attempted to take the gun from him. According to police reports, he then committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. Before he began shooting, Florian showed the gun to other students and passed around ammunition, which some students kept as souvenirs.
