Mary Ingalls
Mary Amelia Ingalls (January 10, 1865 – October 20, 1928) was born near the town of Pepin, Wisconsin. She was the first child of Caroline and Charles Ingalls and older sister of writer Laura Ingalls Wilder, known for her '' Little House'' book series. Biography Mary Ingalls was born January 10, 1865, on her father's 29th birthday. At age 14, Ingalls suffered an illness – allegedly scarlet fever – thought at the time to cause her blindness. A 2013 medical study concluded that viral encephalitis actually disrupted her eyesight, based on evidence from first-hand accounts and newspaper reports of her illness, as well as relevant school registries, and epidemiologic data on blindness and infectious diseases. Between 1881 and 1889, Ingalls attended the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton, Iowa. Jay Aspin
Jay Aspin (born August 19, 1949) is a Canadian politician who served as the member of Parliament for the riding of Nipissing—Timiskaming from 2011 to 2015. Aspin was elected to the House of Commons for the Conservative Party of Canada in the 2011 election. He finished just 14 votes ahead of Liberal incumbent Anthony Rota in the initial count, triggering an automatic judicial recount which ultimately confirmed his victory by a margin of just 18 votes. Prior to his election, Aspin had served as a city councillor for North Bay City Council, as well as a trustee for the Near North District School Board and its predecessor, the Nipissing Board of Education. He also worked as a business consultant and for the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission. Gilles Archambault (born September 19, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec) is a francophone novelist from Quebec, Canada. He studied at the Université de Montréal in 1957, and then worked at Radio-Canada, while working as a journalist. From 1988 to 1997, he broadcast a column on the "CBF Bonjour" program. His work appeared in ''La Presse'', ''Le Devoir'', ''L'Actualité'', and ''Le Livre d'ici''. Georges-Henri Denys Arcand (; born June 25, 1941) is a Canadian filmmaker. During his four decades career, he became one of the most internationally-recognized director from Quebec, earning widespread acclaim and numerous accolades for his "intensely personal, challenging, and intellectual films." Louise Arbour, (born February 10, 1947) is a Canadian lawyer, prosecutor and jurist. Arbour was the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, a former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario and a former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Alex Anthopoulos (born May 25, 1977) is a Canadian professional baseball executive, currently working as the general manager and president of baseball operations for the Atlanta Braves. He was the senior vice president of baseball operations and general manager of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2010 to 2015, for whom he began as a scouting coordinator in 2003.
