Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (4 November 193326 November 2011) was a Nigerian military officer and political figure who served as President of Biafra from 1967 to 1970. As the military governor of the Eastern Region of Nigeria, which he declared as the independent state of Biafra, Ojukwu led the Biafran forces during the Nigerian Civil War against the Nigerian government forces. Born in Zungeru, British Nigeria to Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu, a wealthy Igbo businessman, Ojukwu was educated at King's College, Lagos and Epsom College in Surrey, England. He proceeded to Lincoln College, Oxford University where he obtained a master's degree in Modern History in 1955. He returned to Nigeria to serve as an administrative officer and would later join the Nigerian army. John Ogbu
John Uzo Ogbu (May 9, 1939 – August 20, 2003) was a Nigerian-American anthropology, anthropologist and professor known for his theories on observed phenomena involving race and intelligence, especially how race and ethnic differences played out in educational and economic achievement. He suggested that being a "Caste discrimination in the United States, caste-like minority" affects motivation and achievement, depressing intelligence quotient, IQ scores. He also concluded that some students did poorly because high achievement was considered "acting white" among their peers. Ogbu was also involved in the 1996 controversy surrounding the use of African American Vernacular English in public schools in Oakland, California. Joseph Obinna Ogba (born 1961 in Ebonyi State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Ebonyi Central senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a member of the 8th National Assembly in Nigeria and also senator-elect in the 9th republic of the National Assembly. Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu
Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu (March 31, 1952 – November 17, 2015) was a Nigerian politician. He ended his term as education minister of Nigeria on 17 December 2008. He had been appointed education minister eighteen months earlier. He was replaced as education minister by Dr. Sam Egwu. Dr. Aja-Nwachukwu graduated from the University of Ibadan with a B.Sc in statistics, held an MBA Finance, an M.Sc Statistics and a Ph.D in Economics. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering. He began his public service career as Education Officer with the Ebonyi State Ministry of Education in 1979 as a Mathematics teacher.
