The ceremonial county of Lancashire, which includes the unitary authorities of Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool, is divided into sixteen parliamentary constituencies - four borough constituencies and twelve county constituencies. Two seats cross the county boundary - one is shared with Cumbria and one with Merseyside. Adnan Hussain (born July 1989) is a British independent politician and solicitor who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Blackburn since 2024. Gordon Birtwistle (born 6 September 1943) is a British Liberal Democrat politician and former MP. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Burnley, England, from May 2010 to May 2015. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to Danny Alexander, Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2010 to 2012. From 2013, he was Government Apprenticeship Ambassador to Business. Career Birtwistle began work as a craft engineering apprentice in 1958, with Howard & Bullough, who were textile machinery manufacturers in Accrington. Oliver David Ryan (born 22 April 1995) is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament for Burnley since 2024. Previously, from 2014 to 2023, he was a councillor on Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, where he was Executive Member for Finance and Economic Growth and earlier Executive Member for Children's Social Care. He served as a Labour and Co-operative MP from the 2024 election until February 2025, when he was suspended from the party for bringing the party into disrepute. Paul Maynard (born 16 December 1975) is a British politician who served from 2010 until 2024 as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Blackpool North and Cleveleys. A member of the Conservative Party, he served Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Pensions from 2023 to 2024.
