This is a list of the number-one songs of 2016 in Mexico. The airplay chart rankings are published by Monitor Latino, based on airplay across radio stations in Mexico using the Radio Tracking Data, LLC in real time. Charts are ranked from Monday to Sunday. The streaming charts are published weekly by AMPROFON (Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas). Chart history (airplay) In 2016, nineteen songs reached number one on the General chart, the biggest amount since the chart started in 2007. Of these, fourteen songs were entirely or mostly in Spanish, and the remaining five were entirely in English (also the biggest amount since the chart was founded). Thirteen acts achieved their first number-one song in Mexico: Coldplay, Maluma, Twenty One Pilots, Joey Montana, Wisin, Justin Timberlake, Daddy Yankee, DJ Snake, Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Bia, Sky and Los Plebes del Rancho. "El perdedor" () is a song by Colombian singer Maluma taken from his second studio album ''Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy'' (2015). Sony Music Latin released it as the album's third single on 9 February 2016 following fan demand. It was written by JY (El De La J) and Maluma alongside Kevin Mauricio Jiménez, Bryan Snaider Lezcano Chaverra and Miky la Sensa. Two remix versions were available for purchase; one featuring Puerto Rican singer Yandel and the other being an EDM version. Remigio Alejandro Valenzuela Buelna, known as Remmy Valenzuela (born 1 October 1990), is a Mexican singer, songwriter and accordionist of regional Mexican music. Calibre 50 () is a regional Mexican band. Formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, in 2010. The band has had several lineup changes, with the current roster consisting of lead vocalist and accordionist Beto Gastélum, backing vocalist & twelve-string guitarist Tony Elizondo, sousaphonist Alejandro Gaxiola, and drummer Erick García. La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, or simply La Arrolladora, is a Mexican banda from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. In 1997 they signed with Sony Music Latin. In 2003, they switched labels and signed with Disa Records. History Banda El Limón was formed in 1965 in El Limón de los Peraza, Sinaloa, by Pedro Aramburo, Encarnación Peraza, Lino Quintero, Carlos Peraza and Pedro Peraza. The banda began performing in the port of Mazatlán, and in 1976, Salvador Lizárraga assumed the direction of the banda. Banda Los Recoditos is a Mexican banda formed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. It was founded in 1989 by friends and family members of Banda El Recodo by Cruz Lizárraga. Alfonso Lizárraga and Pancho Barraza, the first vocalists, were two of the more than dozen bandmembers comprising the original incarnation of the band. Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, or simply Banda MS, is a Mexican Banda music, banda group from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, founded in 2003. The ''MS'' stands for Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
