Les Démons De Minuit
"Les Démons de minuit" is the debut single of the French band Images. Released in June 1986, it was the first single from their first album ''Album d'Images''. Very popular, the song was a huge hit in France and the main summer hit of 1986, peaking at number one for 13 weeks. Background and writing "Les Démons de minuit" was also released as an English version (by the same group), titled "Love Emotion". It was very difficult for the group to find a record company agreeing to sign a contract with them, because at the beginning nobody believed in the potential of the song. Christophe Desprès, who took part in the composition of the song, was also a member of the group Pacifique, which released two top 20 hits in the late 1980s. At the time, the music video apparently was regarded scandalous in France as it featured a little particular priest, tortured by the temptation among seductive women. Chart performance In France, "Les Démons de minuit" debuted at number 30 on the SNEP Si ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

The Final Countdown (song)
"The Final Countdown" is a song by Swedish rock band Europe, released in 1986. Written by lead singer Joey Tempest, it was based on a keyboard riff he made in the early 1980s, with lyrics inspired by David Bowie's " Space Oddity". Originally made to just be a concert opener, it is the first single and title track from the band's third studio album. The music video by Nick Morris, made to promote the single, has become iconic with 1 billion views on YouTube. The video features footage from the band's two concerts at Solnahallen in Solna, as well as extra footage of the sound checks and footage from Stockholm. Origin and recording The song was based on a keyboard riff which Joey Tempest had written, as early as 1981 or 1982, on a Korg Polysix keyboard which he had borrowed from keyboardist Mic Michaeli. In 1985, bassist John Levén suggested that Tempest should write a song based on that riff. Tempest recorded a demo version of the song and played it for the other band mem ... Ève Lève-toi
"Ève lève-toi" is a pop single recorded by French Julie Pietri from her third album ''Le Premier Jour'', and was released in August 1986. It is the best-known song of this artist and can be considered as her signature song. It achieved success in France where it topped the SNEP Singles Chart and became a popular song throughout the years. Writing Written by Julie Pietri and Jean-Michel Bériat with a music by Vincent-Marie Bouvot, "Ève lève-toi" is widely considered as a female anthem which originality particularly lies in the sometimes Arabist melody, which recalls that Pietri was born in Algeria. The music video was filmed in Tunisia. Specialist of French chart Elia Habib explained about "Ève lève-toi": "The atmosphere built by the song is that of an Eastern Eden, scene of the Origins. The melody and the orchestration refer to the undulating play of a bewitching flute. The scenery is set, and the text completes it, with short verses without verb : desire, temptation, ori ... MC Miker G & DJ Sven
MC Miker G & DJ Sven were a hip hop duo from the Netherlands. The duo consisted of Lucien Witteveen and Sven van Veen (DJ Sven). The 1980s saw the two launch " Holiday Rap" to international success. The song is a remixed version of Madonna's hit "Holiday" with additional rapping and an interpolation of the chorus of Cliff Richard's " Summer Holiday", produced and mixed by Ben Liebrand. Biography Early years Witteveen and van Veen became acquainted in 1986 in a disco in Hilversum. The disco, Club Baccara, and the resident DJ Martin van der Schagt had a home studio where he recorded the demo version of the Holiday Rap using the original tape loops of Madonna's Holiday. This version was not usable for commercial release. Witteveen was discovered by Hotsound Records' Erik van Vliet, but Frits van Swoll, A & R manager of Dureco, took the song away from Erik, as Frits heard the demo on a local radio station, and approached Ben Liebrand to produce it from scratch.
