"Live Is Life" is a song by Austrian pop rock band Opus, released in 1984 by labels Polydor and OK as the first single from their first live album, '' Live Is Life'' (1984). It was written by the band and produced by Peter Müller, and also included on the US version of their fourth studio album, '' Up and Down'' (1984). The song was a European number-one hit in the summer of 1985, and also reached number one in Canada and the top 40 in the US in 1986. It has been covered by many artists. The title is sometimes mistaken as "Life Is Life": Standard German phonology has final-obstruent devoicing, so that the word "live" sounds like "life". Michael Jones (Welsh-French Musician)
Michael Jones (born 28 January 1952) is a Welsh-French singer, guitarist, and songwriter who lives in France. He has made several hit albums and toured as trio Fredericks Goldman Jones (formed by Michael Jones, French singer-songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman and American singer Carole Fredericks) and collaborated on a number of songs with Goldman. Biography Jones was born in Welshpool of a Welsh father, John Merick Jones (who landed in Normandy during World War II) and a French mother from Normandy, Simone Lalleman. As a young man, he studied drums and guitar. In 1966, he started his first group: Urban District Council Dib Bob Band. At 19, he went to France on vacation and never left. He played guitar and sang with a Norman group called Travert & Cie from 1971 to 1979 and with the group BUDDY C from 1979 to 1983. Jean-Jacques Goldman (; born 11 October 1951) is a retired French singer-songwriter and record producer whose work remains hugely popular in the French-speaking world. Since the death of Johnny Hallyday in 2017, he has been the highest-grossing living French pop rock act. Born in Paris and active in the French music scene from 1975, Goldman had a highly successful solo career in the 1980s. As part of the trio Fredericks Goldman Jones, he scored another string of hits in the 1990s. A founding member of the Les Enfoirés charity collective in 1986 (with which he remained active until 2016), Goldman also wrote successful albums and songs for many artists, including '' D'eux'' for Céline Dion, the most successful French-language recording to date.
