"Sign o' the Times" (stylized as "Sign "☮︎" the Times") is the lead single from American musician Prince's 1987 album of the same name. Despite being negative in nature, the song was originally intended for two separate Prince albums meant to be released in 1986, that were both shelved: '' Dream Factory'' and '' Crystal Ball''. (Many of the tracks from both of these albums ended up on the album ''Sign o' the Times''.) Prince performed all vocals & instruments on the song. "Sign o' the Times" was reportedly written and composed on a Sunday, when Prince usually wrote his most introspective songs. Club Nouveau is an American R&B group formed by record producer/performer Jay King in 1986 in Sacramento, California, following the breakup of the Timex Social Club. The group's name (French for "New Club") was changed from its original incarnation, "Jet Set", to capitalize on the breakup. The group was signed by Warner Bros. Records, on which Club Nouveau released its first three albums. Club Nouveau's go-go version of Bill Withers's song " Lean on Me" won a Grammy award for Best R&B Song in 1987. Company B is an American Latin freestyle trio formed in 1986 by Cuban-American producer Ish "Angel" Ledesma, featuring members Lori L. (Ledesma), Charlotte McKinnon and Susan (Gonzalez) Johnson. Before the group's self-titled album was released, Charlotte McKinnon left and was replaced by Lezlee Livrano. After the group’s self-titled debut album, Susan Johnson left and was replaced by Sheena B. Paul Parker (born in San Francisco, California) is an American Hi-NRG and dance singer. Career Parker's biggest success came in the 1980s, when he reached No. 1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart twice. First was " Right on Target" in 1982, written and produced by Patrick Cowley who also produced Parker's 1983 debut album ''Too Much To Dream''. "Shot In the Night" was the second single to be released from the album.
