Brückenberg is a mountain of Saxony, southeastern Germany. With an elevation of 963.8 m above NHN, it is considered one of the highest mountains in Saxon Ore Mountain Range. Geography and Location Brückenberg is located in the West Ore Mountains, about to the west of Wildenthal and about in the north-northeast of Carlsfeld, two villages in the city of Eibenstock (district of Erzgebirgskreis). The Aschberg ( cz, Kamenáč; german: Aschberg) is a mountain on the border of Germany (Saxony) and the Czech Republic. It is part of the Ore Mountains. The summit lies on the Czech side, in the municipality of Bublava. Location and region Near the summit there is an observation tower on the German side and a youth hostel next to it. The summit plateau is populated on the Saxon side. The scattered houses, originally mountain farmhouses, are known as the Aschbergsiedlung ("Aschberg settlement"). Johanngeorgenstadt
Johanngeorgenstadt () is a mining town in Saxony’s Ore Mountains, 17 km south of Aue, and 27 km northwest of Karlovy Vary. It lies in the district of Erzgebirgskreis, on the border with the Czech Republic, is a state-recognized health resort (''Erholungsort''), and calls itself ''Stadt des Schwibbogens'' (“ Schwibbogen Town”). Its population decline since the 1950s has been extremely severe falling from 45,000 residents in 1953 to only about one tenth of that now. Geography Location The town stretches predominantly from the eastern ridge of the almost 900-m-high Fastenberg to where the Breitenbach, which forms part of the border with the Czech Republic, empties into the river Schwarzwasser. Klingenthal
Klingenthal is a town in the Vogtland region, in Saxony, south-eastern Germany. It is situated directly on the border with the Czech Republic opposite the Czech town of Kraslice, 29 km southeast of Plauen, and 33 km northwest of Karlovy Vary. The Aschberg ("cinder mountain") towers above the town at 936 m. The extremely elongated town, 10.5 km from end to end, is surrounded by numerous woods of firs. The town is bisected by the Döbra and Zwota rivers. These two rivers unite at the Czech-German border to form the Svatava river, which in turn flows into the Ohře river at Sokolov. Buchkamm
The Buchkamm, wrongly also called the ''Buchkamp'', is a forested ridge south of Oberwildenthal in the western Saxon Ore Mountains of Germany. Its highest point is 951 metres above sea level and it runs from southwest to northeast, not far from the Czech border. The old Reichsstraße 93 from Leipzig, which makes its way over the Hirschenstander Pass to Karlsbad, runs past the foot of the Buchkamm by the Nasse Bridge. Today it is only used as a forest road. Until the 1990s there was also a royal Saxon milestone here. An old smuggler's path, the Butter Way (''Butterweg''), runs past the Buchkamm to the southeast. It was used to smuggle butter and other goods between Bohemia and Saxony. It is now a hiking trail. The Große Bockau The Große Bockau is a river of Saxony, Germany.
