Mosque
A mosque (; from ar, مَسْجِد, masjid, ; literally "place of ritual prostration"), also called masjid, is a Place of worship, place of prayer for Muslims. Mosques are usually covered buildings, but can be any place where prayers (sujud) are performed, including outdoor courtyards. The first mosques were simple places of prayer for Muslims, and may have been open spaces rather than buildings. In the first stage of Islamic architecture, 650-750 CE, early mosques comprised open and closed covered spaces enclosed by walls, often with minarets from which Adhan, calls to prayer were issued. Mosque buildings typically contain an ornamental niche (''mihrab'') set into the wall that indicates the direction of Mecca (''qiblah''), Wudu, ablution facilities. Nur-Astana Mosque
The Nur-Astana Mosque ( kk, Nur-Astana meshiti/Нұр-Астана мешіті; russian: Мечеть «Нур Астана»), is a mosque in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is third largest mosque in Central Asia. The 40-meter (131-foot) height symbolizes the age of the Prophets and messengers in Islam, Islamic prophet Muhammad when he received the revelations, and the height of the minarets are 63 meters (207 foot), the age Muhammad was when he died. The mosque designed by Charles Hadife an architect based in Beirut Lebanon is located at the left riverbank in the city of Astana, construction first started in March 2005. The mosque was a gift in accordance with the agreement of the Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa. It has a capacity of 5,000 worshippers inside the mosque, including 2,000 for worshippers outside the mosque. The structure is made of glass, concrete, granite and alucobond measures. Turkistan ( kz, Түркістан, ''Türkıstan'') is a city and the administrative center of Turkistan Region of Kazakhstan, near the Syr Darya river. It is situated north-west of Shymkent on the Trans-Aral Railway between Kyzylorda to the north and Tashkent to the south. The Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi ( kz, Қожа Ахмет Яссауи кесенесі, ''Qoja Ahmet İassaui kesenesı''; russian: Мавзолей Ходжи Ахмеда Ясави, ''Mavzoley khodzhi Akhmeda Yasavi'') is a mausoleum in the city of Turkestan, in southern Kazakhstan. The structure was commissioned in 1389 by Timur, who ruled the area as part of the expansive Timurid Empire, to replace a smaller 12th-century mausoleum of the famous Turkic poet and Sufi mystic, Khoja Ahmed Yasawi (1093–1166). However, construction was halted with the death of Timur in 1405. Despite its incomplete state, the mausoleum has survived as one of the best-preserved of all Timurid constructions. Mashkhur Jusup Mosque
The Mashkhur Jusup Mosque (; ) is located in the center of Pavlodar within an area of 6 ha and is one of the largest mosques in Kazakhstan. It was opened after a year of construction in 2001 and can accommodate 1,500 worshipers. The mosque was named after the Kazakh poet and historian Mashkhur Jusup (1858–1931). Overview The construction of the mosque was entrusted to the "AlmatyGiproGor" Institute, and the work was carried out by the company "IrtyshTransStroy". The base for the building is constructed in the form of an octagonal star with eight points that are a diameter of 48 meters by 48 meters. Kokshetau (meaning ''Blueish Mountain'' in Kazakh, kz, Көкшетау, Kökşetau; ; rus, Кокшета́у, p=kokʂɛtaʊ) is a city in northern Kazakhstan and the capital of Akmola Region, which stretches along the southern shore of Lake Kopa, lying in the north of Kokshetau Hills, a northern subsystem of the Kokshetau Uplands ( Saryarka) and the southern edge of the Ishim Plain.
