Heimifeng Pumped Storage Power Station
The Heimifeng Pumped Storage Power Station () is located at the hills of Heimifeng, Qiaoyi town, Wangcheng district, north of Changsha in Hunan province, China. It was constructed between 2005 and 2009 with the generators being commissioned in 2009 and 2010. The station generates power by transferring water between an upper and lower reservoir. When energy demand is high, water from the upper reservoir is released and used to generate electricity before being discharged into the lower reservoir. During times of low demand, water from the lower reservoir is then pumped back up to replenish upper reservoir. This process allows the station to meet peak energy demand and it can go from standstill to operational in three minutes. Tongwan Hydropower Station
Tongwancheng ( zh, t=統萬城, w=Tʻung-wan-chʻêng, p=Tǒngwànchéng) was the capital of the Xiongnu-led Hu Xia dynasty in northern China during the Sixteen Kingdoms period in the early 5th century. The city is at the southern edge of the Maowusu Sands of the Ordos Desert, on what was formerly a strategic site in the center of the Ordos Plateau. Tongwancheng, which means the "city ruling ten thousand", is the largest urban center of the Southern Xiongnu that has ever been found. The city's ruins are well preserved and located in Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province, near the border with Inner Mongolia. Jiangya Hydropower Station
The Jiangya Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Loushui River, located northeast of Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province, China. The primary purpose of the multi-purpose dam is flood control but it also generates hydroelectricity, supplies water for irrigation and municipal use and improves navigation. Background The dam's power plant has a 300 MW capacity and generates on average 756 GWh annually. It provides for the irrigation of and water storage for about 50,000 people. The Dongjiang Dam is an arch dam on the Lishui River southwest of Zixing in Hunan Province, China. The dam was constructed between 1978 and 1992 and supports a 500 MW hydroelectric power station.
