Indoor Football League
The Indoor Football League (IFL) is a Professional gridiron football, professional indoor American football league in the United States. The league comprises 14 teams, divided equally between the Eastern Conference (EC) and Western Conference (IFL), Western Conference (WC). The IFL is the highest professional level of indoor football and the longest continuously running indoor football league in the United States. Each IFL season has a 19-week regular season which runs from the middle of March to the end of July, with each team playing 16 games and having three Bye (sports), bye weeks. Following the conclusion of the regular season, four teams from each conference advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament, which culminates in the IFL National Championship, played in late August between the winners of the EC and WC championship games. Empire Football League
The Empire Football League (EFL) is a semi-professional American football league with franchises based primarily in New York State. The league was established in 1969. Many franchises have come and gone including in locations such as Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Connecticut as well as Quebec, Montreal, and Ontario in Canada. In 2018 the league included six teams: the Glens Falls Greenjackets, Hudson Valley Mountaineers, Plattsburgh North Stars, Seaway Valley Venom, Tri City Spartans, and Utica Yard Dogs. Northern Football Conference
The Northern Football Conference (NFC) is a semi-professional Canadian football league with franchises based primarily in Ontario, Canada. The league consists of five teams and runs from May until mid-August. It's the oldest running senior amateur football league in Canada. The league began playing in 1954 (then they were known as Northern Ontario Rugby Football Union) with four teams participating, and has operated continuously with as many as 11 teams since then. The annual league champion is awarded the ''Plaunt Memorial Trophy'', named for Greater Sudbury veteran Donald Plaunt who was killed in action during World War II. Rivals Professional Football League
The Rivals Professional Football League (RPFL) is a low-level american football minor league owned by Quentin Hines and consisting of 12 teams in Michigan, Florida and Georgia. The majority of the league players are on fully incentive based contracts. As result of the pay scale the league is subject to criticism, as some openly called it "a scam". History The league was founded in 2012 and played its inaugural season in 2014. The RPFL claims to be a developmental league for players trying to get noticed by the National Football League, Canadian Football League or Arena Football League. The Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) is a low-level American football minor league based in Memphis, Tennessee, using the franchise model. The GDFL acts as an umbrella group that encompasses teams from across the contiguous United States. , the league has 29 teams. The Arena League (The AL or TAL) is an indoor American football league in the United States. The league launched in 2024 with four teams playing six-on-six football, but expanded to six-teams and started playing regular 7-on-7 indoor football in its second season. United Indoor Football Association
The United Indoor Football Association (UIFA) is a professional developmental indoor football league, one of the several regional professional indoor football leagues in North America. The league plays their games in the Fall as opposed to many leagues playing in the spring and summer. They are based out of Watertown, Wisconsin and feature six teams in the league according to their official website. History The UIFA was founded in 2016 and is currently run by team owners Molly Pitney (co-owner of the Ohio Boom) and Lawerance Peters (owner/head coach of the Wisconsin Aviators and current head coach of the Coralville Chaos of American Indoor Football). Great Lakes Arena Football
The Great Lakes Arena Football (GLAF) was a professional American indoor football minor league based in the Great Lakes region in the United States whose operations are currently dormant. The GLAF was designed to be a regional "bus league" with minimal travel, while league member West Michigan Ironmen have direct control over league operations and membership. The Ironmen joined American Indoor Football on December 25, 2024. Although the GLAF website is still online, it hasn't been updated since 2024.
