San Blas Islands
The San Blas Islands of Panama is an archipelago comprising approximately 365 islands and cays, of which 49 are inhabited. They lie off the north coast of the Isthmus of Panama, east of the Panama Canal. A part of the ''comarca'' (district) Guna Yala along the Caribbean coast of Panama, it is home to the Kuna people. San Blas and its surrounding area is a haven for ecotourism because of its pristine environs. The area is also popular for sailing, as it is known for its beauty and lack of hurricanes. Notable locations in the Archipelago are the main capital Gaigirgordub, the densely crowded island village of Carti Sugtupu, and the two keys, Cayos Limones, and Cayos Holandeses, both renowned for their clear waters. Coiba
Coiba () is the largest island in Central America, with an area of , off the Pacific coast of the Panamanian province of Veraguas. It is part of the Montijo District of that province. History Coiba separated from continental Panama between 12,000 and 18,000 years ago when sea levels rose. Plants and animals on the new island became isolated from mainland populations and over the millennia most animals have diverged in appearance and behaviour from their mainland counterparts. The island is home to many endemic subspecies, including the Coiba Island howler monkey, and the Coiba spinetail. In 1919, a penal colony was built on the island and during the years that Panama was under the dictatorships of Omar Torrijos and Manuel Noriega, the prison on Coiba was a feared place with a reputation for brutal conditions, extreme torture, executions and political murders. Islas Secas
Islas Secas ('Dry Islands') is a luxury resort set on a 14-island archipelago in the Gulf of Chiriquí on the Pacific coast of Panama, launched in December 2018. It is located 33 nautical miles from the town of Punta Tierra, Chorcha. Islas Secas comprises eight ‘Casitas’, accommodating up to 18 guests on one of the islands. Isla Palenque
Isla Palenque is located off the western Pacific shore of Panama, near the border of Costa Rica, in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Isla Boca Brava is just to the north, connected to Isla Palenque by a tombolo. The island is approximately , with of coastline and over of beaches. Boca Brava
Isla Boca Brava is located off the Pacific coast of Panama in the Gulf of Chiriquí, specifically in the Bahia de Muertos which is a coral reef. It is about one-half mile from the small mainland village of Boca Chica, Chiriquí, Boca Chica. Boca Brava connects to Isla Palenque by way of a narrow land bridge.
