Malé
Malé (, ; dv, މާލެ) is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 252,768 and an area of , it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Atoll). Administratively, the city consists of a central island, an airport island, and four other islands governed by the Malé City Council. Traditionally it was the King's Island, from where the ancient royal dynasties ruled and where the palace was located. The city was then called ''Mahal''. Talibon, Bohol
Talibon, officially the Municipality of Talibon ( ceb, Lungsod sa Talibon; tgl, Bayan ng Talibon), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 71,272 people. It is located from Tagbilaran. Talibon is the seat of the diocese of Talibon and is the resident town of the bishop. The town of Talibon, Bohol celebrates its feast on the last Saturday of May to honor the town patron, the Blessed Trinity. Islands in Talibon including Nocnocan, Calituban, and Guindacpan are considered to be one of the most densely populated islands in the world. Nocnocan Island
Nocnocan is an island off the coast of northern Bohol, Philippines. Located in the Camotes Sea, it a part of the chain of islands that are situated in the Danajon Bank, the only double barrier reef of the country. It is governed locally by Barangay Nocnocan, under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Talibon, Bohol. The island is around 13 km. northeast from the port of Talibon. Due to its proximity to the rich fishing grounds of the Danajon Reef, fishing is the main source of livelihood of the residents. They supply sea food, such as fish, crustaceans, mollusks and seaweeds to the markets in Bohol and Metro Cebu. The 2020 census estimates that the population of Nocnocan is 1,785, a decrease of 0.06% from 2015. Cebu Strait
Cebu Strait (Tagalog: ''Kipot ng Cebú''; also Bohol Strait) is a strait in the Central Visayas region in the Philippines. Geography The Cebu Strait (and its 3 channels, the Mactan, the Olango, & the Hilutangan) connects the western part of the Bohol Sea with the Camotes Sea, and separates the island provinces of Cebu and Bohol. Transport The strait is a major sea-lane connecting Cebu City on the strait's northern end with port cities in the south such as Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City in Northern Mindanao. Tubigon, Bohol
Tubigon, officially the Municipality of Tubigon ( ceb, Munisipyo sa Tubigon; tgl, Bayan ng Tubigon), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 47,886 people. Located from Tagbilaran, it is the nearest seaport in Bohol to Cebu City, providing many daily ferry round-trips to Cebu City. It has recently expanded its seaport to accommodate additional sea traffic. Tubigon is well known for its "lambay" crabs. The municipality of Tubigon, Bohol celebrates its feast on May 15, to honor the town patron San Isidro Labrador. Bilangbilangan Island
Bilangbilangan is a small island in the Philippines, located in Cebu Strait, a body of water between the islands of Bohol and Cebu. The island is locally administered by Barangay Bilangbilangan, which is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Tubigon, Bohol. It is around northwest of the port of Tubigon. Bilangbilangan is one of the string of islands located in the Danajon Bank, the only double barrier reef in the Philippines, which is known to be rich in marine resources. Residents in the island are fisherfolks that supply seafoods to the markets in nearby Metro Cebu. With an area of around only and a population of 471, Bilangbilangan has a very high population density, one of the densest populated islands in the country. Getafe, officially the Municipality of Getafe ( ceb, Munisipyo sa Getafe; tgl, Bayan ng Getafe) and also spelled as Jetafe, is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Nasingin Island
Nasingin Island is an extremely densely populated island in Getafe, Bohol, Philippines. The island takes up 0.04 km², and has a population of 2,115. This leaves it with a population density of 52,875 people per km². The small island is sustained by fishing. Strong typhoons hit the island often. The island is 1.16 km long. The island is approximately from the port in Getafe and around southeast from Cordova, Cebu. Nasingin lies in the Danajon Bank, the only double barrier reef in the country. A 250-hectares of mangrove forest is located at the northwest side of the island. Launched in 2013, the planting of mangroves in Nasingin is part of the National Greening Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Canigao Channel
Canigao Channel is a strait in the Central Visayan and Eastern Visayan regions in the Philippines. This strait separates the islands of Bohol and Leyte, while the Cebu Strait separates Bohol and Cebu. Thus, the Camotes Sea is connected to the Bohol Sea both by the Canigao Channel (east of Bohol) and Cebu Strait (west of Bohol). The Adam Reef, the Abel Reef, the Cain Reef, and the Eve Reef are coral reefs that can be found in this channel. The Tood Islets and Canigao Island can also be found in this channel. Danajon Islet, also known as Dawahon Islet, is an islet in the Philippines found at the easternmost end of the Danajon Bank. The islet is coterminous with Barangay Dawahon, which is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Bato in the province of Leyte.
