Developing Countries
A developing country is a sovereign state with a less-developed Secondary sector of the economy, industrial base and a lower Human Development Index (HDI) relative to developed countries. However, this definition is not universally agreed upon. There is also no clear agreement on which countries fit this category. The terms low-and middle-income country (LMIC) and newly emerging economy (NEE) are often used interchangeably but they refer only to the economy of the countries. The World Bank classifies the world's economies into four groups, based on gross national income per capita: high-, upper-middle-, lower-middle-, and low-income countries. Least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, and Small Island Developing States, small island developing states are all sub-groupings of developing countries. Countries on the other end of the spectrum are usually referred to as World Bank high-income economy, high-income countries or Developed country, developed countries. ...

Schistocerca
''Schistocerca'' is a genus of grasshoppers, commonly called bird grasshoppers, many of which swarm as locusts. The best known species is probably the desert locust (''S. gregaria'') and trans-Atlantic flight may explain the biogeography of some locust species. Species The Orthoptera Species File lists: *'' Schistocerca albolineata'' (Thomas, 1875) – white-lined bird grasshopper *'' Schistocerca alutacea'' (Harris, 1841) – leather-colored bird grasshopper *''Schistocerca americana'' (Drury, 1773) – American bird grasshopper – type species *'' Schistocerca beckeri'' (Dirsh, 1974) *'' Schistocerca bivittata'' (Stål, 1873) *'' Schistocerca braziliensis'' (Dirsh, 1974) *'' Schistocerca brevis'' (Rehn, 1913) *'' Schistocerca camerata'' (Scudder, 1899) *'' Schistocerca cancellata'' (Serville, 1838) – South American locust *'' Schistocerca carneipes'' (Serville, 1838) *'' Schistocerca caribbeana'' (Dirsh, 1974) *'' Schistocerca centralis'' (Dirsh, 1974) *'' Schistocerca cer ...

Tropidacris Latreillei
''Tropidacris cristata'', the giant red-winged grasshopper, is a widespread species of lubber grasshopper in the family Romaleidae from tropical South and Central America, and Mexico. It is among the largest grasshoppers in the world by length and wingspan, reaching up to and respectively. More typical adult lengths are , average , in males and , average , in females. As suggested by the common name, adult ''T. cristata'' have conspicuously red wings in flight, although the exact red hue varies. The flightless and gregarious nymphs have aposematic dark-and-yellow stripes and are presumed to be toxic. ''T. cristata'' occurs in a wide range of habitats, both in lowlands and highlands. In the southern part of its distribution, it is largely restricted to humid and semi-humid forested regions, avoiding places that are open and dry, but in the northern part it also occurs in somewhat drier habitats. It is generally quite common, although the blue-winged '' T. collaris'' often is mor ...

Acrididae
Acrididae are the predominant family of grasshoppers, comprising some 10,000 of the 11,000 species of the entire suborder Caelifera. The Acrididae are best known because all locusts (swarming grasshoppers) are of the Acrididae. The subfamily Oedipodinae is sometimes classified as a distinct family Oedipodidae in the superfamily Acridoidea. Acrididae grasshoppers are characterized by relatively short and stout antennae (so they may be called "short-horned grasshoppers"Borror, Donald J. and Richard E. White. ''A Field Guide to the Insects of America North of Mexico.'' Houghton Mifflin, Boston: 1970. p. 78), and tympanal organ, tympana on the side of the first abdominal segment. Subfamilies The ''Orthoptera Species File'' (September 2021) lists the following subfamilies of Acrididae. The numbers of genera and species are approximate and may change over time. * Acridinae MacLeay, 1821 (140 genera, 470 species), Worldwide: temperate and tropical * Calliptaminae Jacobson, 1905 ...

Grasshopper
Grasshoppers are a group of insects belonging to the suborder Caelifera. They are amongst what are possibly the most ancient living groups of chewing herbivorous insects, dating back to the early Triassic around 250 million years ago. Grasshoppers are typically ground-dwelling insects with powerful hind legs which allow them to escape from threats by leaping vigorously. Their front legs are shorter and used for grasping food. As hemimetabolous insects, they do not undergo complete metamorphosis; they hatch from an egg into a Nymph (biology), nymph or "hopper" which undergoes five moults, becoming more similar to the adult insect at each developmental stage. The grasshopper hears through the tympanal organ which can be found in the first segment of the abdomen attached to the thorax; while its sense of vision is in the compound eyes, a change in light intensity is perceived in the simple eyes (ocelli). At high population densities and under certain environmental conditions, som ...

Termite
Termites are a group of detritivore, detritophagous Eusociality, eusocial cockroaches which consume a variety of Detritus, decaying plant material, generally in the form of wood, Plant litter, leaf litter, and Humus, soil humus. They are distinguished by their moniliform antennae and the soft-bodied, unpigmented worker caste for which they have been commonly termed "white ants"; however, they are not ants but highly Apomorphy and synapomorphy, derived cockroaches. About 2,997 extant species are currently described, 2,125 of which are members of the family Termitidae. Termites comprise the infraorder Isoptera, or alternatively the Taxonomic rank#All ranks, epifamily Termitoidae, within the order Blattodea (the cockroaches). Termites were once classified in a separate Order (biology), order from cockroaches, but recent phylogenetic studies indicate that they evolved from cockroaches, as they are deeply nested within the group, and the sister group to wood-eating cockroaches of t ...
