Kostakan
Kostakan (russian: Костакан) is a north-south trending chain of cinder cones located in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. Geology Volcanism of the Kostakan cones belongs to a pattern of basaltic volcanism that is recognized to the west of Kamchatka's Eastern Volcanic Zone (GVP). The Kostakan cones are found south of Bakening volcano, from Kostakan Lake southward in a north-south lineament (GVP). They are associated with lava flows and maars. (Ponomareva ''et al.'' 2007). Some of these lava flows have lengths of more than (Dorendorf ''et al.'' 2000). Zmeya crater formed inside a landslide scar and is the highest cone at of altitude (GVP). Activity commenced in the Pleistocene and continued on into the Holocene, with the latest eruption occurring perhaps 1350 at Glavny cone. Puy De La Vache
Puy () is a geological term used locally in the Auvergne, France for a volcanic hill. The word derives from the Provençal ''puech'', meaning an isolated hill, coming from Latin ''podium'', which has given also ''puig'' in Catalan, ''poggio'' in Italian, ''poio'' in Galician and Portuguese. Most of the puys of central France are small cinder cones, with or without associated lava, whilst others are domes of trachytic rock, like the of the Puy-de-Dôme. The puys may be scattered as isolated hills, or, as is more usual, clustered together, sometimes in lines. The chain of puys in central France probably became extinct in late prehistoric time. Other volcanic hills more or less like those of Auvergne are also known to geologists as puys; examples may be found in the Eifel and in the small cones on the Bay of Naples, whilst the relics of puys denuded by erosion are numerous in the Swabian Alps of Württemberg, as pointed out by W. Puy De Pariou
The Puy de Pariou, also known as Puy Pariou or Le Pariou, is a volcano located in the Chaîne des Puys, in the Massif Central region. It is formed by the overlay of two strombolian cones and a tuff ring; it produced three lava flows during its eruptive history. Geography The Puy de Pariou is located about 10 km at the west of Clermont-Ferrand and a little more than 2 km from Orcines, at the south of the road that crosses the Col des Goules. The Puy des Goules is less than 400 meters north; the Cliersou, the Grand Suchet and the Petit Suchet are situated a few hundred meters west and south-west, and the Puy de Dôme lies about 1.5 km south. Kula (volcano)
Kula is a volcanic field located in western Turkey. Kula field consists of a broad area of cinder cones and maars. It is the westernmost volcano of Turkey. The volcanic character of the area was recognized in antiquity, when it was named Katakekaumene (the burned lands) from the appearance of the environment, which was mostly suited for viticulture. Volcanism began in the Miocene and over three stages continued in the Holocene. It is associated with the presence of two neighboring active graben structures. Footprints of prehistoric humans have been found in the area. The area is a geopark recognized by UNESCO given the universal and scientific value. Vernadskii Ridge (russian: Хребет Вернадского) is a volcanic group located in the northern part of Paramushir Island, Kuril Islands, Russia. It is named after Russian scientist Vladimir Vernadsky. The Vernadskii Ridge together with Ebeko is one of the volcanoes on Paramushir that have erupted after the last glacial age, and both of them form one of Paramushir's volcanic ridges; during the last ice age glaciers from the Vernadskii Ridge merged the island with Shumshu island. The Kuril Islands or Kurile Islands (; rus, Кури́льские острова́, r=Kuril'skiye ostrova, p=kʊˈrʲilʲskʲɪjə ɐstrɐˈva; Japanese: or ) are a volcanic archipelago currently administered as part of Sakhalin Oblast in the Russian Far East.
