This is a list of banks in Spain. Spain has 10 banking groups that are directly supervised by the European Central Bank. Kutxabank
Kutxabank is a Spanish bank founded and based in Bilbao. It was officially created on 1 January 2012 out of the merger of three Basque financial institutions operating in their respective provinces: Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa (BBK), based in Bilbao; Gipuzkoa Donostia Kutxa (Kutxa), based in San Sebastián; and Caja Vital Kutxa (Vital) based in Vitoria-Gasteiz. As required by the Spanish Government's bank merger deadline, all three institutions ceased to exist as savings banks after a long period of internal deliberation and integration. Caja De Guadalajara
Caja de Ahorro Provincial de Guadalajara was a Spanish savings bank headquartered in Guadalajara that operated in that province and Madrid under the trade name Caja de Guadalajara. In 2010 it had 73 branches. It was founded in 1964 and disappeared in 2010, when it was absorbed by Cajasol, a savings bank that subsequently integrated its banking business into the Banca Cívica . The Bank of Spain (, ) is the national central bank for Spain within the Eurosystem. It was the Spanish central bank from 1874 to 1998, issuing the peseta.
