Shane Acker
Shane Richard Acker (born 1971) is an American animator, film director, screenwriter and animation teacher known for directing '' 9'', which is based on his 2005 Academy Award-nominated short film of the same title. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. Early life As a child, Acker was hyperactive, so his parents encouraged him to draw. Acker originally set a goal of becoming an architect; he earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Florida in 1994 as well as a master's degree from the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture. Career Upon graduating in 1999, Acker decided to become a film-maker and went to study at UCLA's Animation Workshop. There he created ''The Hangnail'', ''The Astounding Talents of Mr. Grenade'', and '' 9''. In 2004, Acker earned a master's degree in animation. Shingo Araki
was a Japanese animation artist and character designer. Career He developed an interest for drawing at age five. He graduated in Aichi Prefecture. In 1955, at age sixteen, he debuted as a cartoonist in the "Machi" magazine. He then joined Mushi Production as animator in 1965 and later founded Studio Jaguar in 1966. In 1970, he debuted as animation director in the Mushi TV Series " Joe of Tomorrow", and later worked on the anime adaptations of several of Go Nagai's manga, including '' Devilman'' (1972), ''Cutie Honey'' (1973), and '' UFO Robo Grendizer'' (1975), serving as a character designer on the latter two. With his work on ''Cutie Honey'' as well as '' Mahō no Mako-chan'', '' Mahou Tsukai Chappy'', '' Majokko Megu-chan'', and ''Hana no Ko Lunlun'', Araki was an important figure in Toei Animation's early magical girl anime series of the 1970s. Arthur Babbit
Arthur Harold Babitsky (October 8, 1907 – March 4, 1992), better known as Art Babbitt, was an American animator, best known for his work at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He received over 80 awards as an animation director and animator, and also developed the character of Goofy. Babbitt worked as an animator or animation director on films such as ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'', ''Pinocchio'', '' Fantasia'' and ''Dumbo'', among others. Outside of Disney, he also animated '' The Wise Quacking Duck'' for Leon Schlesinger Productions. Early life Babbitt was born to a Jewish family in the Little Bohemia section of Omaha, Nebraska, but moved to Sioux City, Iowa after he finished kindergarten. Frederick Bean "Tex" Avery (; February 26, 1908 – August 26, 1980) was an American animator, cartoonist, animation director, director, and voice actor. Adam Maxwell Burton, known professionally as Maxwell Atoms, is an American animator, screenwriter, storyboard artist, and voice actor. He is the creator of the Cartoon Network series '' Grim & Evil'' and its subsequent spin-offs, '' The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy'' and '' Evil Con Carne''. Xavier Atencio
Francis Xavier Atencio, also known as X Atencio (September 4, 1919 – September 10, 2017) was an American animator and Imagineer for The Walt Disney Company. He is perhaps best known for writing the scripts and song lyrics of the Disney theme park attractions Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and the Country Bear Jamboree. Biography Atencio was born in Walsenburg, Colorado in 1919. He was a Disney artist from 1938 to 1965, when he became an Imagineer to help design the Disneyland Railroad's Primeval World diorama segment. He then contributed to various Disney attractions. He wrote the scripts for Adventure Thru Inner Space and Pirates of the Caribbean. Toyoo Ashida
was a Japanese anime character designer, animation director and director. Kelly Adam Asbury (January 15, 1960 – June 26, 2020) was an American film director, writer, voice actor, and illustrator. He was best known for directing the animated films '' Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron'' (2002), ''Shrek 2'' (2004), '' Gnomeo & Juliet'' (2011), '' Smurfs: The Lost Village'' (2017), and '' UglyDolls'' (2019). , best known by the pen name , is a Japanese manga artist whose work spans multiple genres and appeals to diverse audiences. Biography Before becoming a manga artist, Asamiya graduated from the Tokyo Designer School, then worked as a character designer for a number of anime series, and even designed models for some of the later Godzilla films (1980s).
