The Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Italian Republic is the Republic of Austria's (formerly the Holy Roman Empire, the Austrian Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire) foremost diplomatic representative in Italy. As head of Austria's diplomatic mission there, the ambassador is the official representative of the President of Austria, president and government of Austria to the Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister and the government of Italy. Austria, formally the Republic of Austria, is a landlocked country in Central Europe, lying in the Eastern Alps. Marco Minghetti
Marco Minghetti (18 November 1818 – 10 December 1886) was an Italian economist and statesman. Biography Minghetti was born in Bologna, then part of the Papal States. With Antonio Montanan and Rodolfo Audinot he founded at Bologna a paper, ''Il Felsineo''. He signed the petition to the Papal conclave, 1846, urging the election of a liberal pope, and was appointed member of the state council summoned to prepare a constitution for the Papal States. In the first constitutional cabinet of the Papal States, presided over by Cardinal Antonelli, Minghetti held the portfolio of public works, but after Pius IX publicly spoke against the Italian Risorgimento he resigned, and joined the Piedmontese army as captain on the general staff. Returning to Rome in September 1848, he refused to join a papal ministry after the November 15 assassination of Pellegrino Rossi, and spent the next eight years in study and travel. Karl Ludwig Freiherr von Bruck (Elberfeld, 8 October 1798 – Vienna, 23 April 1860) was an Austrian statesman. Biography In 1821 Bruck went to Trieste in order to take part in the War for Greek Independence, and, remaining there several years, founded the Trieste Lloyd (later Österreichischer Lloyd), a combination of insurance societies. In 1848, he was a member of the Frankfurt Parliament. After the Vienna Revolution of October 1848, he became Minister of Commerce and Public Works. Benedetto Cairoli (28 January 1825 – 8 August 1889) was an Italian politician, who served as Prime Minister of Italy for 2 years. Biography Cairoli was born at Pavia, Lombardy. From 1848 until the completion of Italian unity in 1870, his whole activity was devoted to the ''Risorgimento'', as Garibaldian officer, political refugee, anti-Austrian conspirator and deputy to parliament. He commanded a volunteer company under Garibaldi in 1859 and 1860, being wounded slightly at Calatafimi and severely at Palermo in the latter year. Agostino Depretis (31 January 181329 July 1887) was an Italian statesman and politician. He served as Prime Minister of Italy for several stretches between 1876 and 1887, and was leader of the Historical Left parliamentary group for more than a decade.
