List Of Active Ships Of The Chilean Navy
This is a list of active ships of the Chilean Navy, which is one of the three branches of the Chilean Armed Forces. The Chilean Navy's mission is to provide the Chilean State with naval power and an effective maritime service, to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity, maintain the security of the nation and support national interests when necessary and in any place required. As of April 2025, the Chilean Navy has more than 130 ships in service of various sizes and roles; four attack submarines, eight major surface combatants (frigates) and more than ninety minor surface combatants (patrols), some of which are only identified by their pennant number. These are followed by four amphibious ships with three support vessels that are identified only by their unofficial name, four survey vessels with two minor support vessels, eleven auxiliary ships and one training ship. The Chilean Navy () is the naval warfare service branch of the Chilean Armed Forces. It is under the Ministry of National Defense (Chile), Ministry of National Defense. Its headquarters are at Edificio Armada de Chile, Valparaiso. Displacement (ship)
The displacement or displacement tonnage of a ship is its weight. As the term indicates, it is measured indirectly, using Archimedes' principle, by first calculating the volume of water displaced by the ship, then converting that value into weight. Traditionally, various measurement rules have been in use, giving various measures in long tons. Today, tonnes are more commonly used. Ship displacement varies by a vessel's degree of load, from its empty weight as designed (known as "lightweight tonnage") to its maximum load. Kiel

Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH (often abbreviated HDW) is a German shipbuilding company, headquartered in Kiel. Type 209 Submarine
The Type 209 () is a range of diesel-electric attack submarines developed exclusively for export by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft of Germany. Five class variants (Types 209/1100, 209/1200, 209/1300, 209/1400 and 209/1500), including modifications thereof, have been successfully exported to 15 countries, with 68 submarines being built and commissioned to five different variants between 1971 and 2021.
