List Of Active Ukrainian Navy Ships
This is a list of vessels used by Ukrainian Navy. It includes main naval ships and cutters which are in service or were recently unlisted in the Ukrainian Navy as well as the auxiliary fleet, and lists ships' project numbers where a written class is unavailable or not notable – these are used by the designers to note each ship's type. As of December 2007, the Navy had 27 combat ships and cutters. Some 30 years after the fall of the Soviet Union, the main warships of the Ukrainian Navy are former Black Sea Fleet vessels that were designed and built in the Soviet Union. Having several shipyards on its territory, the shipbuilding industry of Ukraine was mostly stalled after the fall of the Soviet Union. HMS ''Shoreham'' was a of the British Royal Navy. She was the fifth vessel to bear the name. From 2018 to 2021, ''Shoreham'' was deployed at UKNSF Bahrain together with three other mine countermeasures ships as part of 9 Mine Countermeasures Squadron on Operation Kipion. Minehunter
A minehunter is a naval vessel that seeks, detects, and destroys individual naval mines. Minesweepers, on the other hand, clear mined areas as a whole, without prior detection of mines. A vessel that combines both of these roles is known as a mine countermeasures vessel (MCMV). Description A minehunter uses an imaging sonar to detect and classify targets and then sends out divers or remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to inspect and neutralise the threat, often using small charges that are detonated remotely. As minehunters will often be operating in close proximity to mines, they are designed so as to reduce their own acoustic and magnetic signatures, two common forms of trigger for mines. Sandown-class Minehunter
The ''Sandown'' class is a class of fifteen minehunters built primarily for the Royal Navy by Vosper Thornycroft. The ''Sandown'' class also serve with the Royal Saudi Navy, the Estonian Navy, and the Ukrainian Navy.
