Wumpscut
Wumpscut (stylised as :wumpscut:) is a gothic influenced electro-industrial music project from Germany. It was founded in May 1991 by Bavarian disc jockey Rudolf "Rudy" Ratzinger (born 3 June 1966). History Rudy Ratzinger is the creative force behind Wumpscut, occasionally employing the help of guest artists (such as Aleta Welling, P·A·L, Selene etc.), although such collaborations were minimal in scope. Ratzinger cites the influence of such bands as Leæther Strip as his reason for making the transfer from DJing to recording music: "I was a DJ for several years and was tired of offering the audience only alien stuff. The first Leæther Strip works were responsible for trying something on my own." First works performed by Wumpscut dates back to the early 1990s when Rudy Ratzinger started to play music in Bavarian club houses and in Southern Germany. ''Boeses Junges Fleisch'' is an album recorded by the German industrial act Wumpscut. It was released in Compact Disc format on Beton Kopf Media in 1999, under the catalogue number ETAH 9. It was first distributed in Europe by Nova Tekk, later in 2000 by Connected. It was released as a Seamless Audio Edition in 2002 and as a digipak version in 2004. All together, there are a total of at least six different versions of this album (including variating artwork and track lists). Boeses Junges Fleisch was released under the title EEvil Young Flesh ic- with translated titles - by Metropolis Records in North America. The album ranked #17 on the German Alternative Charts (DAC) in 1999 and peaked at #25 on the CMJ RPM charts in the U.S. The album tracks "Totmacher" and "Ich Will Dich" ranked #42 and #46 respectively on the DAC singles charts in 1999. Artwork for the album cover was created by German 'photo artist' Thomas Buchta depicting Satan as an elderly naked man accompanied by female nudes, in front of a tan backdrop. In November 2011 Wumpscut announced the album with a remix contest, inviting fans to download remix packs for 'Grobian' and 'Kill That Little Fuck' and then submit their mixes. A limited edition deluxe 'Satan Box' edition was released on 6 April 2012, containing two CDs (a copy of the original album plus a disc of remixes), access to exclusive remix MP3 downloads (these remixes were made by fans in response to the competition), a shirt, a flag, a booklet, a calendar and other related items.
