List Of WSA Number 1 Ranked Players
This article is a list of PSA women's number 1 ranked players in the Women's Squash World Rankings. The Women's Squash World Rankings are the Professional Squash Association's merit-based method for determining the world rankings in women's squash. The top-ranked player is the player who, over the previous 12 months, has garnered the most PSA ranking points. Points are awarded based on how far a player advances in tournaments and the category of those tournaments. The Women's International Squash Players Association, WISPA, the Women's Squash Association, WSA and the Professional Squash Association, PSA has used a computerized system for determining the Official Women's Squash World Ranking, rankings since April 1984. The Women's Squash World Rankings are the official world rankings for women's Squash (sport), squash. The Women's International Squash Players Association, WISPA, the Women's Squash Association, WSA and the Professional Squash Association, PSA has used a computerized system for determining the rankings since April 1984. The ranking is to rate the performance level of female professional squash players. It is also a merit-based method used for determining entry and seeding in women's squash tournaments. The rankings were initially produced monthly; this has been changed to weekly basis effective ranking issue dated August 29, 2022. The current world number one is Nour El Sherbini of Egypt, who replaced Nouran Gohar in September 2023. Women's squash is the participation of women in the sport of squash. The women's championship started in 1922 as an amateur event and it remained so until 1974. The greatest player in the history of this discipline is the Australian Heather McKay, who won the championship 16 consecutive times from 1962 to 1977. The Men's Squash World Rankings are the official world rankings for men's Squash (sport), squash. The ranking is to rate the performance lvee of male professional squash players. It is also a merit-based method used for determining entry and seeding in men's squash tournaments. The rankings have been produced monthly then weekly since 29 August 2022. The current world number one is Ali Farag of Egypt. PSA ranking policy Players competing in PSA tournaments earn ranking points according to how far they get in the draw. The points available depend on the prize money and the draw size. The weekly rankings (issued on each Monday) are used in selecting entries to tournaments and in determining the seeds. The total number of points a player has earned in the previous 52 weeks is divided by the number of tournaments played (a minimum divisor of ten is used) to give a ranking average. Nouran Gohar
Nouran Ahmed Gohar (; born 30 September 1997) is a professional squash player who represents Egypt. She is the 2023–24 world champion and a three-times world team champion. She reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in July 2020. Career Gohar lifted her first Tour title at the Prague Open in December 2013 at 16 years of age, where she played to her seeding to see off Lucie Fialová to triumph.
