The Voltron franchise, in total, has 200 episodes and one television special. The original series began its run in 1984, airing 124 episodes, plus the one-hour " Fleet of Doom" special. In 1998, a new CGI-series entitled '' Voltron: The Third Dimension'' premiered, consisting of two seasons and 26 episodes. ''Voltron'' is an animated television series produced by World Events Productions for a total of 124 episodes. The series is an adaptation of the Japanese super robot anime series '' Beast King Go-Lion'', which was dubbed into English and edited to create ''Voltron'' episodes. Later episodes also use footage from the mecha anime '' Armored Fleet Dairugger XV''. Premise The first season is about five pilots who command 5 robot lions which combine to form Voltron. Beast King GoLion
is a Japanese super robot anime television series. The animation from ''GoLion'' was edited and trimmed to create the version of the American '' Voltron: Defender of the Universe'' series, with new names and dialogue. In 2008, ''GoLion'' was released on Region 1 DVD in three volumes. To coincide with the anime's original run, a manga adaptation by Yoshiki Tsuchiyama was serialized in TV Land (テレビランド, Terebi Rando). Story ''GoLion''s story is set in 1999, when the planet Altea is subdued and enslaved by the Galra Empire. Armored Fleet Dairugger XV
is a mecha anime and manga, mecha anime series aired in Japan from 1982 to 1983. It is also referred to as ''Dairugger 15'', ''Dairugger XV'', ''Armored Armada Dairugger XV'', ''Armored Squadron Dairugger XV'', or ''Machine Platoon Dairugger''. It ran for 56 episodes (52 regular episodes and four recap episodes). In the United States, it was heavily edited to become part of the ''Voltron (1984 TV series), Voltron'' series. ''Voltron Force'' is a pseudo-sequel to the 1980s animated series ''Voltron'' that was originally scheduled for a release in autumn of 2010.
