The following is a list of transfers for the teams of the USL Pro league, the third level of the United States soccer pyramid, for the 2013 season. The transactions begin at the conclusion of the 2012 USL Pro season and end after the championship match of the 2013 season. The first signing of the season was former Aberdeen FC striker Darren Mackie who joined expansion side Phoenix FC. New players who are listed on a club's official roster but no official announcement was made appear at the end of the list. USL Pro
The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy. The USL is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The league is owned and operated by United Soccer League and was formed as result of the merger of their USL First (USL-1) and Second Divisions (USL-2), following the 2010 season which saw neither the USL-1 nor the North American Soccer League (NASL) receive Division II sanctioning from the USSF, resulting in the temporary USSF Division 2 Pro League. Ocala Stampede
Ocala Stampede was an American soccer club based in Ocala, Florida that played in the Premier Development League, the fourth division of the American soccer pyramid. History Ocala Stampede was granted a franchise in the PDL on December 28, 2011, and began play in the 2012 PDL season. Alex Horwath
Alexander Horwath (born March 27, 1987) is a retired American soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Career College and Amateur Horwath began his youth career with D.C. United, remaining with the youth squad from 2001 to 2003. In 2005, he attended college at the University of Connecticut but did not play due to an injury. In 2007, he transferred to the University of Wisconsin. While with Wisconsin, Horwath established himself as his team's starting goalkeeper, appearing in 52 matches in his three years. Horwath played in the USL Premier Development League during his collegiate career. In 2008, he played for the Northern Virginia Royals and in 2009 with Kansas City Brass. He also played with the Madison 56ers of the National Premier Soccer League in 2007. Peter Byers (footballer)
Peter Byers (born 20 October 1984) is an Antiguan footballer who plays professionally for SAP FC and the Antigua and Barbuda national team as a striker. Club career Born in Bolans Village, Byers spent his early career in his native Antigua and Barbuda with SAP, and in Trinidad and Tobago with San Juan Jabloteh. Byers joined Montreal Impact of the USL First Division on 27 August 2008, a week before the roster freeze date. He was invited to trial with the San Jose Earthquakes during the 2009 MLS pre-season, but signed a new two-year deal with the Impact on 18 February 2009, after failing to agree a contract with the Earthquakes. In the 2009 season he was briefly loaned to Trois-Rivières Attak in the Canadian Soccer League, where he appeared in 2 matches and scored 1 goal. Orlando City SC (2010–2014)
Orlando City Soccer Club was an American professional soccer team based in Orlando, Florida, United States, that was the precursor to Orlando City SC. The team played in USL Pro, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid from 2010 to 2014, until discontinuing in favor of Orlando's Major League Soccer (MLS) expansion franchise in 2015 which is owned by the same principals. The team was founded in 2008 as the Austin Aztex FC before relocating to Orlando, Florida. It was one of the more successful lower-division teams in the United States in its stint in the USL. The team played its home games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the 2014 season, after playing at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium for three years. Orange County Soccer Club is an American soccer team based in the Orange County, California city of Irvine. Bryan Burke (born January 3, 1989) is an American soccer player who last played professionally for San Francisco Deltas in the North American Soccer League. Youth Burke was born and raised in Newport Beach, California and played at the collegiate level for the University of San Francisco Dons from 2007 to 2010. Professional After college, he played in the USL Premier Development League for the Kitsap Pumas in 2011, winning the most valuable player award and earning an appearance in the PDL Championship in his first season. After playing for the Orange County Blues in 2012, he went on trial with Sporting Kansas City and the San Jose Earthquakes before signing with Orlando City. Morvant Caledonia United (formerly known as Caledonia AIA) is a professional football team in Trinidad and Tobago's top-level TT Pro League. It is based in Morvant; its home stadium is Hasely Crawford Stadium. Antigua Barracuda were an Antiguan professional football team based in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Founded in 2010, the team played in USL Pro, the third tier of the United States soccer league system from 2011 to 2013. Akeem Thomas (born January 5, 1990) is an Antiguan footballer who currently plays for Caledonia AIA and the Antigua and Barbuda national team. Club career Thomas began his career in 2009 playing for Bassa in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, and helped the team win the Premier Division title in his first season with the team. In 2011 Thomas transferred to the new Antigua Barracuda FC team prior to its first season in the USL Professional Division.
