Celebrity is a condition of fame and broad public recognition of a person or group due to the attention given to them by mass media. The word is also used to refer to famous individuals. A person may attain celebrity status by having great wealth, participation in sports or the entertainment industry, their position as a political figure, or even their connection to another celebrity. 'Celebrity' usually implies a favorable public image, as opposed to the neutrals 'famous' or 'notable', or the negatives 'infamous' and 'notorious'. ''Go for It'' is a British game show that was broadcast on ITV in 2016 for one series and was hosted by Stephen Mulhern. The series returned on 10 December 2016 for a one-off special, with members of the public who thought they could do better than the previous acts. Some new challenges were also included. In 2017, it was reported that the show had been cancelled after one series. Format The programme sees challengers putting their unusual skills and implausible party tricks to the test. If the challenger succeeds, they win £1,000. Remotely Funny
''Remotely Funny'' is a British children's game show hosted by SAARA. The show is produced by Twenty Twenty Kids for CBBC. The show features three children from across the United Kingdom connected remotely via webcam competing in various challenges to win points known as ' Samojis'. The series began on 13 February 2017. Format In each episode, there are three contestants (except for the Sibling Special) who take part in games, activities and quizzes to win points known as 'Samojis'. Host Saara Forsberg can also give out 'Samojis' for doing something funny or any other reason. The winner wins a ''Remotely Funny'' jumper. The runners up win ''Remotely Funny'' merchandise, like a memory stick or highlighter. From Series 2 however, the runners up get a ruskeakastike cap. Raven (BBC TV Series)
''Raven'' is a BBC Scotland children's adventure game show. It originally aired on CBBC in the United Kingdom from 16 December 2002 to 11 March 2010, over the course of 10 series, with three spin-offs. In the original release, the show was hosted by James Mackenzie who played the title role, and conducted a group of 6 children, known as ''warriors'', over 5 days through a series of tasks and feats. At various stages in the adventure, the group loses the least successful warrior, until two go through to the final week to compete for the title of ''Ultimate Warrior''. The series returned in 2017 with Aisha Toussaint as the new Raven and host, with Mackenzie's character also appearing in the show, renamed as "Raven of Old". 2 series were commissioned and filming began in July 2017 with the eleventh series starting on 4 December 2017, and a twelfth series later airing on 4 June 2018. ''Pets Win Prizes'' is a game show that aired on BBC1 from 16 July 1994 to 3 August 1996. It was originally hosted by Danny Baker for the first series and then Dale Winton took over as host for the subsequent two series. Format In the first rounds, the owners' pets competed in games of skill and agility - depending on what animal they were, this could vary from snail racing to dog pool. The owner whose pet won each game had to randomly choose between two envelopes, one of which contained a prize for them, and the other a prize for their pet. The final round took the form of a 3-minute quick-fire quiz, where the owners had to answer animal-related trivia questions. For every correct answer, a cardboard representation of their animal moved along a race track; five correct answers were required to reach the end. ''Ninja Warrior UK'' (also known as ''Ninja Warrior UK: Race for Glory'') is a British physical obstacle assault course game show, created for ITV (TV network), ITV that ran from 2015 to 2022. The show is based upon the format of the Japanese game show ''Sasuke (TV series), Sasuke'', created by Ushio Higuchi, which is aired in the United Kingdom and other countries as ''Ninja Warrior''. Presented by Ben Shephard, Chris Kamara and Rochelle Humes, the show focuses on around 250 contestants (160 in series 4–5) tackling a difficult assault course featuring a variety of obstacles, the most notable being the Warped wall, Warped Wall. Contestants advance in the competition by achieving a fast enough time or progressing far enough along the course. ''Knightmare'' is a British children's adventure game show, created by Tim Child and broadcast over eight series on CITV from 7 September 1987 to 11 November 1994. The general format of the show consists of a team of four children – one who takes on the game, and three acting as their guide and advisers – attempting to complete a quest within a fantasy medieval environment, traversing a large dungeon and using their wits to overcome puzzles, obstacles and the unusual characters they meet along the journey. The show is most notable for its use of blue screen chroma key, an idea Child utilised upon seeing it being put to use in weather forecasts at the time the programme began, as well as its use of virtual reality interactive gameplay on television and the high level of difficulty faced by every team. ''Jungle Run'' is a British children's television game show that aired on CITV as part of the ITV network from 10 September 1999 to 29 November 2006. It is similar to shows such as '' Fort Boyard'' and '' The Crystal Maze''. It's A Knockout
''It's a Knockout!'' is a British game show first broadcast in 1966. It was adapted from the French show ''Intervilles'', and was part of the international ''Jeux sans frontières'' franchise. History The series was broadcast on BBC1 from 7 August 1966 to 30 July 1982; thereafter a number of specials were broadcast until 25 December 1988. An episode was made by Television South, TVS for ITV (TV network), ITV which aired on 28 May 1990 as part of its ITV Telethon that year with Bernie Clifton as the host. Welsh version A Welsh language, Welsh version, ' (''Games without Frontiers''), was broadcast from 3 August 1991 to 24 December 1994 on S4C. ''Iron Chef UK'' is a British competition-based cooking show based on Fuji Television's ''Iron Chef'' and Food Network's ''Iron Chef America''. It was produced by IWC Media and broadcast on Channel 4 in 2010. Summary The show aired during daytime, five days a week at 5pm in 2010, and was hosted by Olly Smith and Nick Nairn. The four Iron Chefs were Tom Aikens, Martin Blunos, Sanjay Dwivedi and Judy Joo. Like the original ''Iron Chef'', the competitions were held in Kitchen Stadium and presided over by the Chairman. Judging occurred in two rounds, with the first round being appetisers, and the second being the main courses. Two challengers prepared an appetiser each, while professional chefs, the ''Iron Chefs'' prepared two dishes. International King Of Sports
International King of Sports is an annual televised multi-sport competition. The events are mostly sports rarely undertaken outside of this competition, and often resemble comic variants of standard track and field sports. Adam Horder (Australia) was the winner in 2002. The winner of the 2004 competition was Jamie Quarry (Great Britain). The television programme of ''International King of Sports'' was produced by Endemol, and in the UK was broadcast on Five. ''Interceptor'' is a British game show created by Jacques Antoine, Jean Jacques Pasquier and Malcolm Heyworth. It was produced by Chatsworth in association with Thames and shown on the ITV (TV network), ITV network during the summer of 1989, with one last episode held back and shown on 1 January 1990 for a New Year special. It was made in between ''Treasure Hunt (British game show), Treasure Hunt'' and ''The Crystal Maze'', game shows from the same production company. The show was hosted by former tennis player and ''Treasure Hunt'' sky-runner Annabel Croft. The eponymous Interceptor was played by actor Sean O'Kane. Only eight episodes (one series) were made (after an un-aired test pilot). It was re-run on digital TV channel Challenge (TV channel), Challenge many times between 2001 and 2015.
