Abdullah Cevdet Karlıdağ
Abdullah Cevdet Bey (9 September 1869 – 29 November 1932) was a Young Turks, Young Turk intellectual and physician of Kurdish population, Kurdish origin. He was one of the founders of the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) and wrote articles with pen name of "Bir Kürd" ("A Kurd") for the publications such as ''Meşveret'', ''Kurdistan (newspaper), Kurdistan'' and ''Roji Kurd'' about the East–West dichotomy and Kurds, Kurdish awakening and nationalism. In his personal publication ''İctihad'' he pushed for the westernization of society, feminism, workers rights, liberty, science, secularism, and social liberalism. He was an ideologue of the CUP until 1902, when he became an opponent of the organization he founded as it embraced Turkish nationalism. Cemil Topuzlu
Professor Cemil Topuzlu (18 March 1866 – 25 January 1958), also known as Cemil Pasha, was a Turkish social democratic politician who served two terms as mayor of Istanbul. During his time in office he oversaw major developments in the city, including the creation of Gülhane Park. He was also a leading surgeon in Turkey, who was internationally recognised for his pioneering work in several areas, including open chest cardiac massage, and described in several papers published in Ottoman Turkish language, Ottoman Turkish (later in modern Turkish language, Turkish), French language, French and German language, German. Safiye Ali
Safiye Ali (2 February 1894 – 5 July 1952) or Hatice Safiye Ali was a Turkish physician. She was the second female doctor in the Republic of Turkey. She graduated from the Robert College in Istanbul. She treated soldiers in the Balkan Wars, World War I, and the Turkish War of Independence. She studied medicine in Germany in 1916 and opened her office in Istanbul in 1923. Safiye researched maternal and infant health. She was also the first woman to teach medicine in Turkey. Early life Safiye Ali was born in Istanbul to Emine Hasene Hanım (her mother) and Ali Kırat Pasha (her father). Her father died while she was young, and she was raised in the house of her grandfather, Sheikh Hacı Emin Pasha of Mecca.
