The Minister of Taxation () is the head of the Ministry of Taxation (Denmark), Ministry of Taxation and a member of the Cabinet of Denmark, Cabinet. As the head of the Tax Ministry, the Danish tax minister is responsible for areas concerning taxes and tariffs, as well as labour market funds. The collection of taxes was originally assumed by the Finance Ministry of Denmark, Finance Ministry. The Finance Ministry's Department of Taxes and Customs (''Skatte- og Tolddepartementet'') was elevated to the rank of an independent ministry on 13 February 1975. It has officially been referred to as the Tax Ministry (''Skatteministeriet'') since 10 September 1987. The coat of arms of Denmark () has a lesser and a greater version. The state coat of arms () consists of three pale blue lion (heraldry), lions attitude (heraldry)#Passant, passant wearing crown (heraldic charge), crowns, accompanied by nine red lilypads (normally represented as seeblatt, heraldic hearts), all in a golden shield with the Danish Crown Regalia, royal crown on top. Founded as part of a peasants' movement against the landed aristocracy, today it espouses an economically liberal, pro- free-market ideology. is the major party of the centre-right in Denmark, and the second-largest party in the country. Anders Fogh Rasmussen (; born 26 January 1953) is a Danish politician who was the prime minister of Denmark from November 2001 to April 2009 and the Secretary General of NATO, secretary general of NATO from August 2009 to October 2014. He became founder of political consultancy Rasmussen Global and founded the Alliance of Democracies Foundation. He serves as a senior adviser to Citigroup. He also served as a senior advisor at the Boston Consulting Group. Rasmussen was first elected to the Folketing in 1978 and served in various ministerial positions, including Tax Minister of Denmark, Minister of Tax (1987–1992) and Minister of Economic Affairs (1990–1992).
