Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. Aleona Denise "Dindin" Antonio Santiago-Manabat (born September 26, 1993) is a Filipino volleyball player. She played in the UAAP during her collegiate years for the NU Lady Bulldogs and started her professional career in the Philippine Super Liga as the first overall pick in the 2014 season for Petron Blaze Spikers. Personal life Santiago was born on September 26, 1993, the third of five siblings. She is currently signed to the Creamline Cool Smashers of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), and has previously played for teams in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors were a professional women's volleyball team that played in the Premier Volleyball League. The team was owned by Federated Distributors, Inc., exclusive distributors of Pocari Sweat in the Philippines. History The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors debuted in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) in 2014 as the original Mane 'n Tail Lady Stallions. Personal life Pablo was born on 12 September 1993 in Tarlac. She is tall and studied in the National University, majoring in Marketing Management. The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters, or the PLDT Volleyball Club is a professional men's volleyball team owned by PLDT. It was established in 2013 and originally consisted of men's and women's teams. In 2018, the women's team became merged with the Smart Giga Hitters (later renamed PLDT Home Fibr Hitters women's team). The men's team has been playing in the Spikers' Turf since October 2018. History The club debuted in 2013 with the women's team debuting first as the PLDT myDSL Speed Boosters women's team in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) during the 2013 Invitational Conference. The men's team would follow debuting in the following conference.
