Constituencies 2024 boundary changes For the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, which redrew the constituency map ahead of the 2024 United Kingdom general election, the Boundary Commission for England opted to combine Norfolk with Suffolk as a sub-region of the East of England region, with the creation of the cross-county boundary constituency of Waveney Valley, which incorporated areas transferred from South Norfolk to the north of the River Waveney, including the towns of Diss and Harleston. To compensate South Norfolk, Wymondham was transferred in from Mid Norfolk. Apart from changes to align with new ward boundaries, the only other adjustment was to move Drayton from Broadland (renamed Broadland and Fakenham) to Norwich North. Alice Macdonald (born 1 April 1983) is a British Labour and Co-operative Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Norwich North since 2024. She is the daughter of former West Norfolk Council Labour leader Irene Macdonald. James Oliver Wild (born 5 January 1977) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for North West Norfolk since 2019. He has been Shadow Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury since November 2024, and was Shadow Minister for Education from July to November 2024. North West Norfolk is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by James Wild, a Conservative. History Under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, the three two-member county divisions of Norfolk were replaced with six single-member divisions, including the newly created North-Western Division of Norfolk, largely formed from northern parts of the abolished Western Division. It was abolished at the next redistribution of seats under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1918, when it was largely absorbed by the expanded constituency of King's Lynn. Duncan Charles Baker (born 15 November 1979) is a British Conservative Party politician, who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Norfolk from 2019 until 2024. Early life and career Duncan Baker was born on 15 November 1979 in Norfolk, and went to Gresham's, a private school in Holt. He studied business at Nottingham Trent University, then qualified as a chartered accountant, before working as a finance director. Political career Baker ran for election to North Norfolk District Council in 2015, standing for UKIP in the Holt ward, which had previously been his step-father Michael's seat.
