Ali Moeen
Ali Moeen (born 20 November 1968) is a Pakistani playwright and lyricist. Early life and career Ali Moeen was born on 20 November 1968 in Lahore. He completed his Master's degree in English literature and political science from Government College University, Lahore. On 2 December 2008, Ali Moeen was awarded the Best Drama Writer in the Hum TV's HUM Tele Film Festival 2008 for the telefilm ''Aik Aadh Hafta''. "Yeh Hum Naheen" (Urdu ﻳﻪ ﮨﻢ ﻧﹷﮭﹻﮟ,) – "This Is Not Us!" Ayub Sabir
Muhammad Ayub Sabir () was a Pakistani writer and academic better known as a scholar of Muhammad Iqbal. He had received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Iqbal award and Pride of Performance from the Government of Pakistan for his literary works. He passed away on 17 November 2022 in Islamabad. Early life and education Sabir was born on 2 January 1940 in Haripur, British India (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan). He received his Master of Arts degree in Urdu language from Peshawar University, Peshawar, Pakistan. He obtained a M.Phil. degree on Iqbal studies from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad and PhD in Urdu Language from Punjab University, Lahore. Attash Durrani
Attash Durrani (; 22 January 1952 – 30 November 2018) was a Pakistani linguist, researcher, critic, author, educationist, and gemologist. He wrote more than 275 books and approximately 500 papers in Urdu and English. His main disciplines of study were language, education, computer science, and information technology. He was the recipient of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz ( lit. 'Medal of Excellence') and Sitara-e-Imtiaz (lit. 'Star of Excellence') medals for his contribution to Urdu language and literature. Ata Ul Haq Qasmi
Ata ul Haq Qasmi ( Punjabi, ) is a Pakistani Urdu-language newspaper columnist, playwright and poet. He has written around twenty books and many articles on different subjects for the leading newspapers of Pakistan. His books have been translated into four languages. Early life and career Qasmi was born in Amritsar, Punjab, British India in 1943. His family has Kashmiri roots. His father Maulana Baha ul Haq Qasmi used to teach at MAO High School and MAO College in Amritsar. Arshad Sharif
Arshad Sharif (; 22 February 1973 – 23 October 2022) was a Pakistani journalist, writer, and news anchor. He specialized in investigative journalism and covered many political events in the country for national and international news organisations. On 23 March 2019, he was awarded the Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, for his contribution to journalism. He was shot and killed by police in Kenya on 22 October 2022. A 592-page report by the Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed the killing to be a “planned targeted assassination," claiming that Kenyan police were "used as instruments." Ashfaq Ahmed (; 22 August 1925 – 7 September 2004) was a Pakistani writer, playwright and broadcaster. His works in Urdu included novels, short stories and plays for Pakistan Television Corporation, Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan. Anwer Zahidi
Anwer Zahidi ()(born July 9, 1946) is a Pakistani physician, Urdu poet and author. He has published around a dozen books of poetry, short stories, travelogue and translations. After completing his graduation in science from Punjab University, Anwer Zahidi received a degree of MBBS from Nishtar Medical College, Multan in 1970. Anwaar Ahmad
Anwaar Ahmad (, born 11 June 1947, Multan) is an Urdu short story writer, scholar and academic from Pakistan. Presently, he is serving as the Director General at University of Gujrat's Sialkot Campus. He has been associated with Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, and Government College University, Faisalabad as an academic, researcher, and departmental head (Urdu) for over 35 years. He has also served as a visiting professor at Ankara University in Ankara, Turkey and the Urdu department at Osaka University of Foreign Studies in Osaka, Japan. He worked as the chairman of the National Language Authority from 17 June 2011 to 12 December 2012. Anwar Maqsood
Anwar Maqsood Hameedi (born 7 September 1939; ), popularly known as Anwar Maqsood, is a Pakistani scriptwriter, television presenter, satirist, humorist, and infrequent actor. He is well known for his drama write-ups for PTV in the late 1970s and 1980s. Early life and family Anwar Maqsood was born on 7 September 1939 in Hyderabad State.
