The variety of locales and amenities of the parks reflect the diverse geography of Oregon, including beaches, forests, lakes, rock pinnacles, and deserts. The state parks offer many outdoor recreation opportunities, such as overnight camping facilities, day hiking, fishing, boating, historic sites, astronomy, and scenic rest stops and viewpoints. John Day is a city located approximately north of Canyon City, Oregon, Canyon City in Grant County, Oregon, United States, at the intersection of U.S. Routes U.S. Route 26 in Oregon, 26 and U.S. Route 395 (Oregon), 395. The Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum, also known as Kam Wah Chung Company Building, is a state park and a National Historic Landmark that preserves early Chinese culture in John Day in the U.S. state of Oregon. Frenchglen Hotel State Heritage Site
The Frenchglen Hotel State Heritage Site is a hotel in the sparsely populated southeast part of Oregon, United States. It is located in the unincorporated community of Frenchglen, near the base of Steens Mountain and at the northern end of the loop road that ascends almost to the mountain's summit above . The hotel was built in 1924. In its early days, its guests typically had business at Peter French's P Ranch or were visiting the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
