List Of Michelin-starred Restaurants In Singapore
The Michelin Guide for Singapore was first published in 2016. At the time, Singapore was the first country in Southeast Asia to have Michelin-starred restaurants and stalls, and was one of the four states in general in the Asia-Pacific along with Japan and the special administrative regions (SAR) of Hong Kong and Macau. In the 2016 edition, two hawker stalls, Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle, became the first set of Southeast Asian street stalls to be bestowed with Michelin stars. Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle's most notable dish and also the country's national dish, chicken rice, also became the cheapest Michelin-star meal in the world at S$2 (US$1.60) a serving. Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle
Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle () is a street food stall in Kallang, Singapore. It is owned and run by Tang Chay Seng. In 2016, it became one of the first two street food locations in the world to be awarded a Michelin star, star in the Michelin Guide. Description Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle is a street food stall, one of 6,000 such stalls within Singapore. It was founded in the 1930s by Tang Joon Teo, but after he fell ill during the 1960s, his second son Chay Seng took over its management. Goodwood Park Hotel
The Goodwood Park Hotel ( Chinese: 良木园酒店) is a heritage hotel in Singapore, situated in a 6-hectare landscaped garden on Scotts Road. It was first built as the club house for the Teutonic Club serving the expatriate German community in Singapore, and later converted into a hotel. The hotel was the first in Singapore to have a swimming-pool on the premises, and an air-conditioned wine cellar. The Tower Block of the hotel has been gazetted as a national monument of Singapore. Boat Quay
Boat Quay is a historical quay in Singapore which is situated upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River on its southern bank. It spans from the shophouses near UOB Plaza, stretching along one bank of the Singapore River, all the way till Elgin Bridge. It was the busiest part of the old Port of Singapore, handling three-quarters of all shipping business during the 1860s. Because the south of the river here resembles the belly of a carp, which according to Chinese belief is where wealth and prosperity lay, many shophouses were built, crowded into the area. Though serving aquatic trade is no longer Boat Quay's primary role, the shophouses on it have been carefully conserved and now house various bars, pubs and restaurants. The Hilton Singapore Orchard is a 1080-room five-star hotel located at 333 Orchard Road in Singapore.
