List Of MPBL Awards
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) presents ten annual awards to recognize its teams, players, and coaches for their accomplishments. This does not include the three team trophies the league gives out to division champions and league champions as well as the All-MPBL Teams. The MPBL holds an awarding ceremony during the national finals of every season since 2019. This is where most of the awards are given out with the exclusion of the Finals MVP and Coach of the Year, which are presented at the conclusion of the finals. History The MPBL has been presenting awards in every season since the league's establishment, but in the beginning there was only one, that being the Finals Most Valuable Player, first given out after the 2018 MPBL finals. Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's regional professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of 30 teams. Founded in 2017 by eight-division boxing world champion and then-Senator Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL is not intended to be a competitor to the top-flight Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), but rather to provide a gateway for local, homegrown talents to showcase their skills. The league uses a home-and-away format, similar to the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. The MPBL started an amateur league before being granted professional status by the Games and Amusements Board. Due to Pacquiao's role in the league, it has also been referred to as Manny Pacquiao's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Will McAloney
William Bill McAloney Jr. (born September 1, 1993) is a Filipino-Canadian professional basketball player for the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). In his collegiate career, he played for Emilio Aguinaldo College–Cavite and University of San Carlos; the latter with which he won the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball championship in 2015. In 2018, he joined the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League as a member of the expansion Cebu City Sharks. In 2019, after playing for the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers of the PBA D-League he was selected 15th overall in the 2019 PBA draft by the NLEX Road Warriors. In 2021, McAloney was traded to the Blackwater Bossing but parted ways in 2022. The Imus Braderhood (also known as the Imus Grumpy Joe Braderhood for sponsorship reasons) is a Filipino professional basketball team based in Imus, Cavite. The team currently competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division (MPBL), South Division. The team most recently played its home games at Imus Sports Complex. The team joined in 2018 MPBL season, 2018 as a charter team of the MPBL. For a majority of their history, the team was known as the Imus Bandera, a reference to Imus being known as the "flag capital of the Philippines". The Caloocan Batang Kankaloo (currently competing as the Caloocan Supremos) are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Caloocan. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's North Division (MPBL), North Division. The team plays its home games at Caloocan Sports Complex, located on the northern portion of the city. The team began play in the 2018 MPBL season as one of the MPBL's charter teams. They also compete in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) and currently go by the ''Caloocan Supremos'', the team's original name. Oscar "Oca" Gonzales Malapitan (born June 14, 1955) is a Filipino politician who currently serves as the representative from the 1st District of Caloocan in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 2022 and previously from 2004 to 2013. Dennis "Delta" Garcia Pineda (born May 6, 1974) is a Filipino politician, basketball head coach and businessman from the province of Pampanga in the Philippines. He currently serves as the 29th Governor of Pampanga. He was a former Vice Governor of the province in the past years, and he was elected in 2019 as the 29th Governor of the province. The San Juan Knights (also abbreviated as SJK) are a Filipino professional basketball team based in San Juan. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's North Division. The team plays its home games at Playtime Filoil Centre. The Pasay Voyagers are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Pasay. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's North Division. Parañaque Patriots
The Parañaque Patriots are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Parañaque. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team plays its home games at the gymnasium of Olivarez College. The team is one of the MPBL's charter teams during the league's 2018 season. The team is currently owned by the City Government of Parañaque and its vice mayor Joan Villafuerte. The Quezon Huskers are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Lucena, a highly urbanized city in the province of Quezon. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team splits its home games between Quezon Convention Center and Lucena Convention Center. The team's first incarnation was the Quezon Coco Huskers of the United Regional Basketball League (URBL). Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters
The Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters are a professional basketball team based in Batangas City, Batangas. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team splits its home games between Batangas City Sports Coliseum and FPJ Arena in San Jose. They joined in 2018 as one of the founding teams of the MPBL.
