The Outies
The Outies, formally known as the Out & Equal Workplace Awards, is an annual awards gala hosted by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. The Outies honor individuals and organizations that are leaders in advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender ( LGBT) employees in America's workplaces. Through these awards, Out & Equal provides the business and LGBT communities with examples of innovative approaches and proven successes to help create safe and equitable workplaces. The awards are presented annually at the Out & Equal Workplace Summit, a nationwide conference addressing LGBT issues in the workplace. Outie Awards are given in five different categories, with two recognizing individuals and three recognizing organizations. Dorian Awards
The Dorian Awards are film and television accolades given by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, founded in 2009 as the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association. GALECA is an association of professional journalists and critics who regularly report on movies and/or TV for print, online, and broadcast outlets in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. As of November 2022, GALECA listed approximately 410 members. The awards recognize the best in film, television, and performance for the prior calendar year, with categories ranging from general to LGBTQ-centric. The Dorian Award is named in honor of the writer Oscar Wilde, in reference to his novel ''The Picture of Dorian Gray'', and the original award was a simple certificate with an image of the noted author and playwright, along with a graphic of hands holding a black bow tie. Stonewall (charity)
Stonewall (officially Stonewall Equality Limited) is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender ( LGBT) rights charity in the United Kingdom. It is the largest LGBT rights organisation in Europe. Named after the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, Stonewall was formed in 1989 by political activists and others campaigning against Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988, including Ian McKellen, Lisa Power, and Michael Cashman.
