''Keeping Up Appearances'' is a British sitcom, created by Roy Clarke, and broadcast on BBC1. It stars Patricia Routledge as Hyacinth Bucket (which she insists is pronounced "Bouquet"), a social climbing snob intent on impressing the upper and upper-middle classes and striving for social perfection. The series also features Clive Swift as her long-suffering husband, Richard; Josephine Tewson as Elizabeth Warden, Hyacinth's next-door neighbour; Judy Cornwell and Shirley Stelfox as Hyacinth's sisters Daisy and Rose, respectively; and Geoffrey Hugues as Onslow, Daisy's husband. From the second series, Mary Millar replaced Shirley Stelfox as Rose, and David Griffin joined the cast as Emmet Hawksworth, Elizabeth's brother. Bernard Archard
Bernard Joseph Archard (20 August 1916 – 1 May 2008) was an English actor who made many film and television appearances. Early life and career Archard was born in Fulham, London, where his father Alfred James Aloysius, who was born in Marylebone, was a jeweller. Bernard's paternal grandfather Alfred Charles Archard and great grandfather Henry Archard were clockmakers, watchmakers and jewellers in Mayfair, London during the 1800s. He was the maternal grandson of James Matthew Littleboy, Mayor of Fulham from 1906 to 1907. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and in summer 1939 he appeared in the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park production of ''Twelfth Night''. Norman Lovett (born 31 October 1946) is a British stand-up comedian and actor best known for his portrayal of Holly, the ship's computer in ''Red Dwarf''. Career Lovett became a stand-up comedian in his thirties, initially supporting punk bands in the late 1970s, before establishing himself on the alternative comedy scene during the 1980s. Gretchen Franklin
Gretchen Franklin (7 July 1911 – 11 July 2005) was an English actress and dancer with a career in show business spanning over 70 years. She played Ethel Skinner in the long-running BBC 1 soap opera ''EastEnders'' on a regular basis from 1985 until 1988. After this she returned to the show intermittently.
