Germany–Israel relations (; ) are the diplomatic relationship between the Germany, Federal Republic of Germany and the Israel, State of Israel. After the end of World War II and the Holocaust, relations gradually thawed as West Germany offered to pay Reparations Agreement between Israel and West Germany, reparations to Israel in 1952 and diplomatic relations were officially established in 1965. Jeremy Issacharoff
Jeremy Issacharoff (; born 1955 in London) is an Israeli diplomat who served as Israel’s Ambassador to Germany from 2017 to 2021, succeeding Yakov Hadas-Handelsman. Before that, he was Vice Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also served as deputy director general for strategic affairs and as such, has had the opportunity to be involved in various issues relating to Iran's nuclear program. While he was the third highest ranking official at the Israeli Embassy in Washington in 1994, he was the first Israeli to have official contact with the UAE. In 2020, Issacharoff spoke out about anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attacks in Halle and Hanau, saying "No democratic society can survive if minorities are constantly threatened or harmed. ... Yacov Hadas-Handelsman (; born August 22, 1957, in Tel Aviv) is the Israeli Ambassador to Hungary. From 2012 to 2017 he was the Israeli ambassador to Germany, based at the Embassy of Israel, Berlin. Shimon Stein (born 9 March 1948) is an Israeli diplomat. He was the Israeli ambassador to Germany from 2001 to 2007. On 1 January 2001, the first day of his ambassadorship, he was sent to Berlin. Avi Primor
Avraham "Avi" Primor (; born 8 April 1935 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli publicist and former diplomat. From 1987 to 1993, he served as Ambassador to the European Union, and from 1993 to 1999 as Ambassador to Germany. After leaving the diplomatic service, he was vice-president of the University of Tel Aviv until 2004. While Ambassador to Germany, Primor rose to national prominence as one of the most important promoters of the German-Israeli dialogue.
